I had e-mailed the FSCS and gave them an update that my OH is being made redundant this month - I did mention that I was concerned that no salary coming in that the Picture account would fall into arrears.

But you would only fall into arrears as Picture (or FSCS) have not paid out yet so they are probably offering you an option. It can still be missold even if you claim so it reads but I would also be very wary. I would not say you have lost your complaint though cause after all it was still a single premium with interest and not the best option for you.

Really trying not to speculate about your claim Honey2, so will just say goodluck and hope you get your redundancy and rest of the PPI, this is a very good reason though why there has been a delay though.

  • I have never told Picture that I have made a claim for compensation to the FSCS - the only recent communication with Picture was advising my OH was being made redundant this month. Picture told me to contact the insurance for a claim form - I have not done this yet.

The FSCS all I have said to them is OH being made redundant and fear that if this matter is not settled then the loan could end up getting into arrears and I am not sure what Picture would do i.e try to re-possess. That was the last e-mail I sent the FSCS then sent me the e-mail on Monday that I posted saying in the next 2 weeks or sooner I would recieve their letter.

    I am really worried now.

I bet they are starting to adapt the new proposals though pinknico. Honey was told that she had a cheque coming and then told them of the redundancy etc, perhaps there is a delay and they are thinking that the money will not be avialable for a while OR if her hubby is redundant then are Picture going to get their remaining money??? Its not all lost like Honey thinks but there is more to it I think..

I remember talking about this on site when Martin added about "being covered" although not single premiums and someone said that they would not be able to afford cover whilst still paying the single premium. Its so true. They stopped everyone getting their finances properly in order really. It can sometimes then spiral out of control.

I am so confused with this one marshallka, is it just me, have I too much going around my head at the moment:confused:

honey2 did you ask if you could claim for the redundancy or was it just something you mentioned to them regards waiting for payment:confused:

From the phone call she says everything you need will be posted out on Friday. I take that as your cheque!!

But if its the cheque, how can she claim redundancy?
And the policy is cancelled once you make a successful reclaim so how can you claim on the insurance?

    ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!

And its not even my claim!

  • When I called the FSCS today I said to the lady that although I have received an e-mail advising I will receive a letter in 2 weeks or sooner from the FSCS - due to the redundancy that will be happening this month what should I do, as Picture have told me to obtain a claim form from the insurance company. She then told me that I would be sent on Friday of this week everything I need. Once I received the letter from the FSCS if I wished to contact Picture Insurance and made a claim for redundancy then I could do so.

Whether you told Picture or not would not make any difference, as I am sure they would have been made aware you had submitted a claim ,when FSCS or Deloitte requested the info from them.

Deloitte will have been liasing with Picture and maybe Picture have put a notation on the account thinking you were making a claim against the policy, this could have caused some confusion and the reason your are being told, you claim will be invalid if you do claim:confused:
