I'm in Marketing and write copy like this every day for large IT companies and I'm sorry to say Finance companies as well so am fluent in business speak and Bulls**t.:o

Needless to say the Finance chaps have been a bit quiet lately as everybody hates them and they're not really marketing right now

Actually just had an initial response:

    Thank you for your email.

I will look into the issues you have raised and will get back to you as soon as possible.

I would expect to hear more tomorrow and I'll post up when I know more.
In finance hey, but you do have your uses:D:D, my niece is an FA and I must say she was very helpful to us in sorting out the extra loan with the Building Society. Don't think we would have managed it without her. We owe her big time if this comes through. Wonder what commission she will charge!!!!!!!!

She called me back and said On Friday of this week the FSCS will be posting a letter to me which will have everything I need!! She then said once you have received that letter you may if you wish contact the insurance company and make a claim against your policy for redundancy

That's strange, so even if you get the money back you can still claim.

P.S. she also mentioned that if I claimed before receiving the letter then my claim with the FSCS would be invalid!!!

That's good advice. Get that cheque cashed before you do anything.
Hopefully the cheque will be in the post on Saturday:beer:

Surely if you make a claim against the policy then it isn't classed as mis-sold?

Hope the letter brings you good news!
    That's what I was led to believe:confused:

Honey hadnt you been told your cheque was on its way already?

The stuff about being mis sold and making a claim is 2010, why would it be valid now?

Hope it is but cant they just use plain english and answer questions?!

I bet they are starting to adapt the new proposals though pinknico. Honey was told that she had a cheque coming and then told them of the redundancy etc, perhaps there is a delay and they are thinking that the money will not be avialable for a while OR if her hubby is redundant then are Picture going to get their remaining money??? Its not all lost like Honey thinks but there is more to it I think..

I remember talking about this on site when Martin added about "being covered" although not single premiums and someone said that they would not be able to afford cover whilst still paying the single premium. Its so true. They stopped everyone getting their finances properly in order really. It can sometimes then spiral out of control.

I assume the claim would stop at the time it takes to settle the misselling complaint. I wonder if they are giving you your options here. Have you said you are not going to be able to pay PIcture cause of the redundancy??

I had e-mailed the FSCS and gave them an update that my OH is being made redundant this month - I did mention that I was concerned that no salary coming in that the Picture account would fall into arrears.
