Well - just buy the radio then. You don't need the SD card for the radio to work. If, in future, you decide you would like to record radio programs or use it to play your own music then you can buy the SD card.
I bought mine for £75 just over a year ago - and thought that was a lot of money then (even though it was half price at the time) but I wouldn't be without it now. I listen to the radio a lot and medium wave programs such as Talk Sport are crystal clear - whereas on MW they often got distorted. I have tried different DAB radios but have found that Pure have the best reception capabilities - and their support is very good too.0 -
You can also upgrade the firmware of the bug via your pc (which is actually quite easy for non techie people) which will allow you to view the Electronic Programme Guide (EPG) for DAB sations. This is useful if you want to set timed recordings. I've found the software to be a bit 'buggy' but you can always go back to the stable version which doesn't have EPG support. For more info see Pure's site here. The version with EPG support is 'Trial v1.3 beta 50'.
This is the 2nd DAB radio I've bought (still got the first!) and I listen to the radio more than ever now and to shows I previously would not even have considered. I would recommend that you buy an SD card as well (if you don't already have one) as this will enhance your listening experience.0 -

I have one and I would hghly recommend it but as another poster mentions - the central navigation button - which operates a lot of the functions is a bit tricky. For those with less than adept fingers it might be better getting a different model.
That said it looks really good and you have a good choice of displays on the "head" part including eyes that occasionally roll/wink/blink.
I have an SD card - but have never used it.0 -
I am sooooo tempted by this but can't justify 80 quid on an alarm clcok radio. DAB doesn't work where i live at the moment but will be moving in six weeks....oh the decisions i have to make!
Saw one of these when Index was closing down for £60, I walked around the store while I tried to persuade myself i NEEDED it, i did went back and it was gone!0 -
Bought one from Comet 2 months ago for £90.
It has been a superb buy, very solidly made.
Reception is good but not quite as good as the Pure Evoke 1 I have.
The pause live radio and record live radio to SD card features I have not yet used in anger, but I have tried them and they are simple to use.
A bargain at £80, buy one.0
