I am so tempted to buy this... :A I just feel even £80 is a lot of money to justify, even for a really cool DAB radio0 -
Yeah I'm the same! I raelly want one.. I bought one for my mum for xmas (not this one but another DAB) and she loves it to bits.. I think I should have one cos I'm in the kitchen most of the day with the radio on and it's flipping rubbish!!
Is this a particularlly good buy?
I try to avoid amazon as they didn't follow through with the last order I placed (kept changing the delivery date until I got peed off and cancelled it).0 -
As well as bringing you superb quality audio and all of the other benefits of DAB digital radio broadcasting, the Bug brings life to radio by allowing you to pause, rewind and record live radio. Multiple alarms, record timers, the ability to play MP3s, station presets and equalisation settings are among the other clever features packed inside its compact but perfectly formed body.
Your radio listening will never be the same again.
WOW! It's a genius one! lol! can you believe the technology nowadays? it's mindboggling! ha ha!!
I think I want one! :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j :j0 -

The Bug originally cost £149 when first released. You will not find this cheaper anywhere.
Pure are well known for making DAB receivers with the best possible reception of DAB in poor signal areas, and The Bug gets a good review in this respect.
The sound quality is also reviewed as being very good.
I already have a DAB receiver, but have always wanted one of these.
I bought this because I wanted a DAB with a sleep timer, as I listen to those late night chat shows. Also this receiver can record your favourite programs to a SD memory card, so you don't have to stay up all night. I ordered a Viking 1GB SD card from Ebuyer for £17.99.
The new Pure Evoke 3XT does the same job as The Bug for £199, so I know which one I want, and can afford.0 -
Thanks talkshop.. I think I'll get it :beer:0

I've got a Bug!
I love it, it sits on my kitchen windowsill and the sound is great. I would recommend it to anyone! Just one tip though, do not leave the SD card in it if it's in the sun cos it gets corrupted and you have to re-record everything! What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0 -

That's exactly where I will put mine.. just plucking up the courage to ask OH if it's OK to order0 -
I bought one of these about 12 months ago for about £120. I was told Pure have the best reception of all DAB radios. This is especially important for me as we are in a dodgy reception area at the best of times. I also bought this model for the alarm functions which are truly great. The other great function is that if you unplug and move the radio from room to room it remembers all the settings including the time which is downloaded from the radio signal.
The radio is fantastic. The only problem with it is the central navigation button which is used for turning the radio on and off and controlling volume and changing stations. I find this very fiddly and often find I am turning the volume up or down instead of turning the thing off (this may have improved on the latest model?!).
Other than this a very definite buy and good value for money.0 -
The SD card? do I really need that?0

In what way? Do you really need a DAB radio? Probably not! It depends what you want. If you want your Bug to play MP3 tracks or to record radio then yes you do need an SD card. If you don't want to then you don't need an SD card.
Personally I find it useful to have the SD card with some of my favourite MP3 music on as mine is next to the bed and the radio isn't always the most romantic (e.g. when the news comes on). I also set the timer to record a program on during the day and listen to it when I go to bed (if I am not entertaining with the MP3 music on in the background of course!)
Make sure that you have version 1.2 of the software on too available from here..

You could try the beta version but I haven't - as I don't need the EPG and have heard of problems with it.0
