I do wish however, that smokers would have more consideration - and I know im generalising here, I do know of some smokers who are very considerate, dont smoke in the street - only smoking areas, in there own home etc - I just wish everyone would have that consideration

I personally hate leaving anywhere, tescos, restaurants, hospitals, doctors, swimming pools, ante-natal classes etc and forced to go through a cloud of smoke. If those smokers moves away, having consideration for the people with babies, pregnant or who simply hate to breath it in.....there probably wouldnt be a problem

Until then, im going to just chuck stink bombs at the crowd, see how they like the childish selfishness :D:D

I agree to disagree!! I agree, smokers are selfish and that I am within my right to enjoy my town without stinking of fags.

I think you've missed some words here? Your logic is flawed by the notion that the non-smokers are just asking to not be "done unto". We arn't asking that you stop smoking, just that you allow us our freedom. You are asking for the right to do us harm.

Yes, but the justification of the majority of smokers on here is purely "because we can, and f*** the rest of you". I'm not being selfish in that I'm not trying to deny you any right, other than the right-to-do-me-harm. You on the other hand, are denying me the right to not be intentionally harmed.

We have 2 types of people in this thread: Those who don't mind smokers and those that dislike them. There is nothing that any single person in this thread can say to make a person change their opinions about smokers.

In short? You're all wasting your time on this one. This thread's going around in circles and probably borderline locked due to the abuse.

Agree on all counts. It's a shame because parts of it have been interesting and thought-provoking. Until the abuse started I was enjoying it.

What about Alcohol why dont people moan about that?
People who take alcohol can Steal, Start fights, Rape, Murder people and cause crashes and also LIKE SMOKING can cause cancer/failure to parts of your body.

And as i have suffered from living next door to one ruin people's life.
For me to smoke outside of my house/street/pub etc etc iam doing neither of them above.

And for people to moan about smokers how do the ones moaning know what the smoker is going through? they may have all sorts of problems in there life or is experiencing something dreadful.

But like everyone in this life time people are very quick to criticize with out knowing anything..


I smoke but i have my reasons, i dont particularly like smoking but it is the easiest way for me to chill out without being drunk of smacked out of my head on drugs.

i agree, tho irrelivant to smoking. My brother was an alcoholic and died as a result at 35. thats another big issue.....one i feel strongly about - but nothing to do with smoking

Same as a non-smoker, what if they lost a child to cot death, and has recently given birth and is scared of smoke around there child?....or what if someone recently lost a family member to lung cancer and they DIDNT SMOKE?? or what if this...or what if that.....

point is, if ur a smoker who doesnt put other people out - fair enough, but most smokers dont even realise the impact they have - thats the issue here
