What time do you get your mail?

Options
A bit of a rant I guess but I would say 90% of the time we get our mail mid to late afternoon, yesterday it was 7.50pm, so far today.....nada, I'm a bit fed up of it actually especially when the next village get their's by 11am everyday. Even special delivery stuff doesn't get to me ontime (paid for guaranteed by 1pm delivery, turns up later in the afternoon)

Is there supposed to be a set time by which mail should be delivered or is it just when they get round to it? We don't live in the middle of nowhere, 6 miles from the local sorting office and the nearest large town but loads of villages round me that don't seem to suffer the same.

We usually get ours between 9 - 12, sometimes a little bit later.

I know it's annoying but feel lucky, in Australia we receive mail about 3pm and not on the weekend - I think it's still great to receive mail on a Saturday here!
  • i sympathise with ya, my deliverys are quite random as well, somtimes i get mail at 8.30am (usually saturday morning) most days it comes 2pm-3pm and ive had mail as late as 4.30pm.

the past week ive had 2 letters, which is doing my head in when im waiting for stuff.
  • Usually get mine between 9am - 1pm. On occasion from 8:30 on Saturdays. (Sometimes, if the ususal postie if off & have someone else doing the rounds, it could be by 3pm. But that doesn't happen much).

We live in a small town, and we get our post anytime between 10am and 2pm 6 days a week. When we first moved in 13 years ago it was always here by 7.30am. How things have changed. One thing that really gets my  is we are right next to the council highways yard and we keep getting thier post. The letters clearly state HIGHWAY YARD but as they have our house number on thats were they get delivered. WE've spoken to the sorting office and they claim that it has our house number on therefore its being delivered to the correct address. I remember the days when the postie lived in your village and knew each and every person by name!!!

Buy your bananas in bunches of 5 on Sunday. Then arrange them in order of ripeness and write a day of the week on each banana in felt pen, Monday on the ripest, Friday on the greenest to save time making those decisions on a hectic weekday morning

    Hi
I get mine during the week at around 3.00ish which isn't really a problem because i don't get home until about 6.30pm, it can be a little annoying if your waiting for something though! I get my Saturday post at around 8.30am, not sure why its so different to the weekdays!

usually around 11am, surprisingly enough its 90% of the time within 5 minutes of that time. On saturdays usually about 9-10am.

The sorting office is right...by law the postie has to deliver mail to the address shown, even if the name is different! sometimes though a NICE quiet word with your postie helps or speak to the yard themselves and ask them to please correct the people sending the letters.

It is frustrating when mail arrives late and if it is a continuing problem then speak to the manager of the depot if it only happens now and again it's usually because it's a newbie or your regular postie's off and the covering one doesn't know the round.

Our local postie went out delivering parcels after his finish time, unpaid, because someone else had left them and he cared that his customers got their parcels when they were supposed to rather than a day or two late! A few complained about the time (it was after 6pm) but most were grateful.
