lee i wouldnt do that they'll pass it onto to a debt collector in the end-it says in the terms it doesnt cover for indoor use

ive jsut been on the phone to them again and they said theres nothing they can do i have to buy my contract out

  • thats all very fine ..putting in disclaimers for lack of coverage. But surely there must be an oppurtunity to alter your contract to reflect the true nature of your service.
Im 600 mins short of my inclusive talk allowance why cant they just lower that and increase the internet usage. Then everybody is happy...or does it not matter that the customer is unhappy with there service and thats that!!!!?

I;m in the same boat.. there was a fire recently around here and on top of the building there was a phone mast which was damanged. Ever since i have had no signal at work or at home (the places where i am the most) i mentioned it to Orange an they said there is nothing i can do :( I have 1600 minutes a month, i'm 3 weeks into the month and still have 1000 left. My poor landline is gettin used soo much :(

This is a different case altogether. If you received coverage from the burnt down mast and they have failed to replace it, you are in a position to demand a cancellation of your contract as they no longer give the coverage they claimed and gave when you entered the contract.

You will need to go to a senior person in customer service or even retentions as well as writing/emailing Orange. Be very clear that this removal of the mast is your sole reason for wanting to cancel as it is entirely down to loss of reception that you wish to leave.

i agree with guys its their fault you have no reception none of your own doing-ask to speak to someone above whoever u talk to and say youre making a complaint

  • I took out mobile broadband with Orange last July only to find it worked intermitently for the first 2 months but then I had no signal when I moved home. I was advised to send the dongle back which I did- and so I cancelled my contract- or so I thought. I received no further correspondence neither- even though I did pay for Royal Mail to re-direct my mail to my new address.
Last week I received a letter from a debt collection agency saying I owed Orange £155! When I phoned them up I was advised I could either pay £65 and then £20 per month for the remainder of my 18 month contract or pay the full £155- if I don't pay tomorrow then I'll owe £255! Madness!
I phoned Orange today but with no luck- they claim they haven't received the dongle within the specified 14 day time limit so my contract still remains. I am sooo mad that I am paying for a service I can't receive!
    Any ideas anyone?!

OMG:j....i dont believe what has just happened!!

I wrote to communications dept and as yet have not recieved a reply.

Ive spoken to customer services 3 times and each time the assistant has told me there is absolutely nothing they can do..i have asked for a manager to call me back and on each of the 3 occasions i recieved no call back..!!!

So today was gonna be the final try spoke to great guy in customer services who didnt hesitate to ask me what i wanted..i told him reduced minutes and txts and unlimited internet and emails.

Again he didnt hesitate and said "no problem Mr Flatts can give you 400mins, 300 txts, unlimited emails and 500mb of internet for £30...discounted by £10 through my original contract. So £20/mnth all in. Considering this was with afree w995 im quite happy
I enquired as to why this was deemed impossible in previous attempts, and no problem with him..he just repiled "his manager hates him to request call backs on these matters and its in Orange best interests to keep their customers happy".

So what do you guys reckon decent enough deal in the circumstances?

Stick to your guns folks..make Martin proud and claim what is rightfully yours
  • good for you rum maybe i should keep trying i jsut feel like im banging my head against a brick wall already spoken to 2 different departments

Dont ever ever give up...put it in writing and keep calling

I just recieved a call from the correspondence dept confirming my new plan ..i asked them if i could get the unlimited landline calls that i had with the original plan.
Very nice lady said there wasnt a bundle available but would give me an extra 200 mins on top.
    So thats

    W995 for free
    600 mins
    400 sms
    500mb internet
    free emails
    £20/month for 18mnths

All i gotta do now is move somewhere else so.. i can get some home reception!!:)

If anyone wants a draft of the letter i wrote , can email to you
  • i wont give up i was jsut so fed up of getting the same response everytime i called but i will keep trying
