Morning - am unusually awake today - probably due to wearing myself out over the weekend with an 8 mile run and a lot of gardening! We've created a new bed in the garden for more veggies (lots of digging, phew!) and got herb seeds planted indoors. Squeezed in a bit of homecooking too - I made chicken liver pate and Mr Squizz has made some lovely bread.

No news on the flat/ house thing cos I is a wimp :o

Money-wise everything is ticking along nicely - once all my bills are paid I have about £300 left for the month which is fine, don't need anything in particular. Ooh but I do have a half marathon to enter, must remember to do that today.

    I will, honestly!

Just spent another £4.89 of my toiletries budget on three lipbalms - ones made of organic natural products only - I am really starting to think about the sort of things I use, I have really dry lips and am constantly putting vaseline on them, it can't be good to be constantly consuming something that's basically made of petroleum can it! This could become an expensive habit mind you.. just need to try to make savings elsewhere. I haven't bought any clothes so far this year which is good for me - want to keep that up as long as possible.

It is expensive Squizz....although you do find that Organic stuff is often reduced as less people buy it.
I haven't spent any of my clothes budget for this year either...and I wasn't including school uniform originally but after going through all of B's summer stuff, she won't need anything so I might get away with including that in the budget :)

I'd noticed your £100 challenge sig was still at zero too ;)

Yeah these were reduced, and they sound lovely.

I have been doing a bit of thinking about my priorities re money-saving vs healthy vs environmentally friendly vs old-style etc... obviously they all link in but I have been guilty in the past of buying really cheap toiletries and food, and think what I really need to do is not waste money on silly things so I can buy better quality/ better for me things - especially if I'm putting them in or on myself!

    Absolutely...
I think during the summer we eat lots of fresh veg and hopefully this year Fruit from the allotment which will save me money, but it is hard to keep food budgets down when you are buying organic stuff as it is do much more expensive than value! It has always been really important to me to buy from farmers markets, local or organic but at the moment I can't be fussy...
Toiletries I do still buy quality stuff for B as she can't tollerate cheap stuff, I put some bubble bath in the other day and her skin was awful, wheals all over it. I stick to just buying Weleda Baby range which is calendula..good job we sell it in the shop so I can get it at cost price

Seems to me you're *already* living together! And that he's a bloke, and they don't *ever* seem to initiate conversations like the one you're trying to have. But from his reactions that you've mentioned on here, it sounds, it just sounds, like he *might* be grateful to have you be the one to bring it up. What do you think?

You are probably right - I suppose there's a little bit of me that's scared that he doesn't see it that way and just wants things to carry on as they are. But I suppose I won't know unless I ask, because he doesn't bring things like that up, and the vast majority of evidence is to the contrary (except he did tell me at the weekend that if I wanted to eat Marmite I would have to go home :(:rotfl:).

On the nice organic things note, very impressed with this place - http://www.yoursbynature.co.uk/Skincare/Lip-balms/ - ordered this morning, despatched this afternoon!

I have no news, except that I have a mental block about how to spell 'dispatched' or 'despatched' or can it be both or either or what? :rotfl:
