On the lipbalm front...maybe have a go at this you'd need to outlay for all the bits to start with but I'm sure it would still work out a lot cheaper and everything there can be used to make other stuff too. The little sample pots from body shop would be ideal to store it in ;)

Ooh that looks good, might have to have a go at that.. I have lots
of little containers from various things I could use.

Had to laugh - when I clicked on the page the first thing I saw was "home remedy for premature grey of hair using Virgin Organic coconut oil" - might have to go and check my roots in the mirror now! :rotfl:

Ahhh I ended up looking at Land Share yesterday - someone nearby has an acre of land for which they want a small amount of rent or 10% of produce - very tempting but think we might be pushing it to have the time/ energy/ knowledge to make it worthwhile at the moment... maybe next year. Thanks for all the suggestions on FB about what to do with it - I think I'd need more than an acre for the DFW commune plus sheep, chickens, ducks and an earth ship! ;)

Fish bargains in Waitrose last night :D Nice big bit of hake that was enough for both of us for £2 - made stir fry from odds and ends of veg, the 10p noodles from the freezer that we got a while back, and I made my own sauce from garlic, ginger, chilli, plum jam, Chinese five spice and soy sauce - yum!

I am still building up to the house conversation (stop rolling your eyes you lot!) - this morning I asked Mr S if he wanted me to go home at any point this week. He said "it's up to you" - I said I didn't particularly want or need to - he said "well, no I don't" - so that's good :)

In other news.. erm.. nope don't think there is any! Spent a tenner on food last night and that's it - bank account still looks fairly healthy.

An acre is a helluva lot of land to actually use productively! I think you might need to work up to that one (unless you just use it for fruit trees!).

And seriously, Squizz, listen to Mr Squizz. He wouldn't commit to saying "no, don't go home" until you'd made it clear what you wanted. Thats what I'm hearing from what you've written, anyway!

I know you make sense Karma - I keep going to say something then think  and don't do it. Or I go to open my mouth and Mr Squizz says something like "do you think I should paint that skirting board?" or "do you want some sticky toffee pudding?" :rotfl:

:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: well, I can understand the toffee pudding distracting you, at least!

Just reading what you said on El's thread about the recycling, Karma - was pleased to see that we got a leaflet through the other day saying that by the end of the year we'll be getting bins to recycle plastics, metal and glass - currently the council only take paper. Quite impressed by that! Our compost bin is looking good - lifted it up at the weekend and there is some lovely rotted-down stuff at the bottom. Looking at getting one of those Bokashi bran ones for the kitchen so that cooked stuff and meat etc can go in too. Been recycling things like egg boxes into seed trays - the cardboard ends from printer cartridge packaging are good too! Have a huge stash of jars to be used for jam and chutney.. and I'm trying to persuade Mr S he wants to get a milkman so we can have glass bottles ;)

Flipping horoscope - gonna stop reading it :rotfl:

Today the planetary emphasis shifts to your relationships, Capricorn, and there is something very good happening in that department. Something that has been standing in the way of deeper levels of commitment and intimacy could be removed, or it may be that the "yes" you've been hoping for (or hemming and hawing about saying) finally is heard.

So he's asking you about painting skirting boards......you're doing all this recycling together and your getting the garden planted up......

Just why are you paying rent elsewhere? :D

One of you needs to make the step forward here.

As for the landshare - can you register an interest as a "helper" and give a few hours now and then to see how it's all going and how feasable it would be for you take part on a bigger scale?
