Good morning!
Had a brilliant weekend, really good catching up with my mates.. lots of food and rather a lot of wine!
On a DFW front, really pleased that I managed to spend just £40 all weekend. We went to La Tasca for dinner and had a HUGE meal but had a 50% off voucher which made it only about £15 each. Had a wander round the shops yesterday and even managed to leave Primark empty-handed. The only thing I bought was a really sweet salt and pepper set shaped like penguins, which was reduced to £1! Mind you I have pretty much no money left now until a couple of cheques clear in the next couple of days.
Had some lovely birthday pressies from my friends, including a purse (I desperately needed a new one) and some very nice toiletries, mostly L'Occitane including the most lovely hand cream I've ever used.
Had the usual soul-searching sort of slightly drunken chats that we have, during the course of which I decided to look for some more interesting things to do with my time and have come across a voluntary organisation here who do horticultural therapy with people with mental health problems. Going to contact them today to see if they are looking for volunteers, their website says the sessions are on weekdays but hoping I might be able to negotiate something with work as it sounds really interesting and something I would love to do.
Talking of gardening (sorry Maz if you're reading), I'd asked my mum the other day if she had any spare veg seeds, and on Saturday I got a package in the post with loads of stuff - complete with really detailed instructions as to how to grow everything. Don't think I'll need to buy any more seeds this year!
Right, better get on with pretending to do some work - have typed this out in word then copied and pasted it in to avoid having internet up on the screen for too longDebt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Glad you had a good weekend Squizz...I went to the allotment yesterday, first day since about November and it was lovely. Filled me with the need to get back down there and start organising and digging
Im going for Maximum coverage this year and the more I can stick in every nook and cranny I will...think I might need to get a bigger freezer! Now I wonder if you can keep livestock on an allotment?
I'll make a wish, take a chance, make a change And breakaway. I'll take a risk, take a chance, make a change and breakaway ....

Growing seedlings in my living room and his attic room, then he has a reasonable sized garden where we've created a 5'x5' vegetable patch, plus another long bed for salad and herbs, plus there will be quite a few containers round the garden.
Ooh I have broccoli seedlings which I planted outside in Autumn which have survived the snow perfectly - very impressed!Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -

I mentioned this on the daily chat but I fell in love with some cutlery at the weekend - http://www.johnlewis.com/230443451/Product.aspx (and was very impressed that the sales person actually thought I looked like someone who was in the market for such cutlery :rotfl:). I'm seriously tempted to buy one item a month till I've got a full set :rotfl:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0
