I think its a good idea to be cautious (unless you're nicking pens from Barclays) - I remember 3 months on the trot where you had less than a pound a day to live on.....

Very true :o It's taught me a lot though - I can live on very little when I need to. But I'd rather not!

  • Well, it's Monday, and I am very sleepy! Enjoyed the weekend although the walk didn't go quite to plan, as the first bit was much tougher than we expected - so no nice hotel and homecooked dinner for me - instead a trek to the nearest train station and home. More sensible than carrying on and ending up wandering the moors in the dark though :rotfl:

Didn't spend much although slightly annoying that I'd already paid for the hotel but never mind!

This week I will be mostly concentrating on trying to earn a bit extra through surveys etc, and doing my (at least) 3 runs plus gym classes. When I find some energy that is :o

Glad the weekend was good, but what a shame about the hotel! Any chance you can book again, or have you lost that money? I certainly wouldn't fancy wandering about in the dark on the moors myself...... good for you for doing the sensible thing.

Lost it unfortunately because it was such sort notice - just have to write it off to experience!

Ah well. I did do the same once - cut short a stay at a very posh B&B to stay at a friend's house. I hadn't even asked if I could cut the amount I paid them when they told me that I'd have to pay the full amount or they'd take me to the Small Claims Court. It kind of put a dampener on the rest of the stay, as I'd told them when I arrived. I wasn't as philosophical as you about it.......

That's lovely customer service! I didn't even ask, it was booked through a website and said it was 48 hours for cancellations, plus the woman was so lovely when I phoned to let her know :o

Oops had to do a bit of digging to find my diary there - and it's not easy to dig with a touch screen phone and pointy sticky thing!

Well all the money, exercise and productive stuff has gone out of the window for a few days, am off sick and not really feeling like doing much. Spent a lot more than I was expecting too this week but suppose it was necessary, illness is expensive!

Had a funny couple of days with OH where he was being quite moody and said a few things that made me a bit paranoid. Was thinking either I'd done it again and met someone untrustworthy, or I was letting past experience dictate how I was feeling and not trusting him. Neither is good but my rational head says it's the latter which is definitely preferable. Anyway, we had a nice evening last night and I kept my neurotic self quiet and felt a bit better about things. Had a bit of a chat about my flat and I said I was going to look around for something cheaper over the next few months. He didn't say much but keeps being very affectionate whenever I talk about it  And later... he gave me a set of keys to his house so I could let myself in when I come round, and go round anytime I want even if he's out. Which was nice :D:D

Sorry you're ill.... but you managed to write a whole proper post on your mobile? Wow.... I'm very impressed ! :) Being ill *is* expensive when you're on your own - I collect disposable cutlery from M&S every so often so I don't have to buy it/wash it, and cheapo polystyrene bowls so i can just chuck them. But you still have to buy ready meals and what not....

V nice about the OH giving you the keys tho.........!!!

It's a bit fiddly posting from mobile, can take ages to get in the right place, but then it's just like writing a long text. And I have a pointy stick! :)
