How are you now? You sound on the up, but not healed yet - be careful!
Um, Squirrel, that a *big* phone bill ........ can you do some work on that?
Since life is that tough financially, and you're just getting better, I have a tip for drinks at the weekend. It might hurt if its a free bar - but alternate one booze, one water. When I used to drink reelly reelly regularly, it was the only way I could avoid getting falling down drunk, cos I used to sip all the time.....
Such a lush........me!

I'm getting there - thanks. Not doing anything too energetic until I feel much better. Work is making me wish I'd stayed in bed mind you!
Phone bill - errm yeah I need to be more careful, it should only be about £30 but I keep going over my contracted minutesAt least I don't have a landline or internet to worry about on top of that!
Possibly thankfully there will be no free bar - that would be a huge temptation! The alternate drinks is a good idea, especially as I won't gulp the water down too fast.Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Just seen mention of Christmas in another thread - don't usually think about it until much nearer the time (in a sort of "if I don't think about it, it won't happen" way) but I am actually looking forward to it this year, due to lovely trip away.. but it does mean I need to be a bit organised too so that presents can be posted in time - and I don't want to be spending loads in December!
Already got a book from Bangzo's "free" offer for my dad - £2.45 postage - and have cards that I bought in January sales - but need to get thinking cap on for everyone else! :eek:Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012."I cannot make my days longer so I strive to make them better."0 -
Ok as a start to the great Christmas plan have taken advantage of this - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1989137 for a present (although it might be tempting to keep it
) - and this for a special card for one of my friends - http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=1984923 - have also seen something on Amazon for a friend so will keep surveying etc so I can get vouchers for there.

That sounds good - you're really starting to think about it.... I like the sound of that pashmina, but everyone I know that wears them already has loads........ don't think I'd better add to the burden. See you soon, Squizz

I found some Argos vouchers at home last night - not sure where they came from but an extra tenner towards Christmas pressies can't be a bad thing, will have a look at their website later for ideas.
Last day at work today then off on my travels - back Monday (probably not much diarying from me till then - stop breathing that big sigh of relief!) OH is coming up for the weekend and meeting my friends up there and maybe even the parents

That's brilliant Evab - good find!
My Christmas pressie spends so far are looking like this:
Book - £2.45, book - 56p, pashmina - £2.65 = £5.86 (minus £5 if the Quidco cashback goes through!)
