Hello.. am tired.. went to conference yesterday which was OK but far too hot day for sitting on trains etc.

Quite a lot of work to do today but finding it hard to get going, just a bit fed up with things at home.. I think if I asked Mr S about moving in he probably wouldn't know the answer, he couldn't even decide if he wanted to walk to the shops or not last night.

On the positive side, I paid off that little debt yesterday, so total paid off April-June was £711.36. That's £1396.74 paid off so far this year. To meet the target I set the other day I need to pay off about £795 in each of the next quarters - so that's my next target.
Debt@16.12.09 £10,362.38, now debt free as of 29.02.2012.

Welll.. bit happier today in the Squizz household as it's Friday. I've had a really good day at work actually, not done anything major but starting to feel like I know what I'm doing and loving the autonomy to do things my own way. Oh and I'm getting another trip to a meeting I think, to York this time.

Also, being in a better mood today - I feel a bit more :j about paying off that debt - I am free of Moorcroft at last!

Have done a few constructive bits for my second job as well - that's the one that is with my old employer, mentoring people who are training others in IT skills. I've also been doing the training bit myself, which leads to a qualification, and spent lunchtime doing some work towards that. As for the mentoring, I got my payslip for that yesterday, and I have a} been enrolled in the pension scheme for it - bit pointless when I will only earn a few hundred pounds from the whole scheme and b} been taxed at emergency rate! I sort of understand how it's happened but as it's my old employer they do know who I am and could have contacted me to get whatever they need to sort out the proper rate of tax. So need to sort all that out. There are some vague murmurings about some other work in that area but nothing definite as yet. Still I've had some good feedback from the people running it, so pleased about that :) Although one of them wanted to offer me a job which is a bit unfortunate when I've just got one!

Not sure we are going to get the planned holiday this summer, as flight prices are shooting up now :( Mentioned it to Mr S last night and we said we'd think about just doing some long weekends walking in the UK instead.. we have talked about getting a tent so we can camp for a couple of nights between walking days, so hoping to kinda push that point this weekend ;)

Tomorrow we are off to a music festival (just a local thing), after waiting for the man who is coming to repair the boiler - hot water has been a bit temperamental this week and this morning there was none  Sunday there is a market on just up the road so may go to that. We will also be mostly eating peas, chard, courgettes.. in fact this week what we've eaten has been almost entirely from the garden, the farmers market and the local fishmonger (did have an attack of laziness and get pizza from Tesco last night though!)

Right that was a big ramble.. have a nice weekend! x

Yay to the spitting at Moorcroft :rotfl:

Squizz, sounds great - I hope you get your festival weekend. The work stuff sounds excellent, this is a lot more than just a bit better job with more pay, it sounds like you really have prospects there. Good for you :j

Helllooo... and special hellooo Bob, not seen you for a while! Yep I am very glad to be rid of Moorcroft, although I am tempted to ask them for statements for both of my accounts just to make sure they are closed.

The weekend was great. Saturday, the man came to fix the boiler.. except the boiler had fixed itself! He was really helpful though, and suggested a few things we could try if it played up again. Didn't charge for coming out either. Headed off to the festival after lunch - wandered round the (not very interesting, to be honest) stalls, and then watched the bands and ate ice cream till about 7pm. Most of the music was really good - only exception was a weird jazz-rock-heavy metal band that was just, well, weird! Went home when we'd completely seized up from sitting on the grass...

Yesterday we went to the market, got some bread for lunch and some mushrooms. Oh and a couple of pictures from an artist's stall, we'd got one from him somewhere else a few weeks ago. And I bought a ginger mint plant which is lovely - purple/ red stems and variegated green/ yellow leaves. Back home for lots of gardening.. had a nice chat with next door neighbour who is really impressed with what we've done with the garden. Had risotto for tea with farmers market bacon, and our own courgettes, peas, broad beans, onions and herbs.

Very tired this morning.. don't seem to have a great deal to do at work so far, so I think it's going to be a long day. The couple of things I've had to do so far have involved giving people answers that they don't want to hear, not a lovely start to the week!

Mr S has decided to use another day's leave and was still in bed when I left - hmmph!

Hmm.. a funny thing happened at lunchtime. I was looking at some evening classes to maybe do in the Autumn, and I realised that I wasn't thinking "oh but it depends on whether I have the £65 spare on the registration day" - it's not really a big issue now. Wow.

Also, I seem to remember I had a three month plan for April to June, I must try and find it and see how I did!
