  • Good morning all. Today I am mostly doing not very much, unless lots of work suddenly arrives. Going to do a bit more looking round at courses and see if I've got any surveys I can do.

    Meh.

You know, all this motivation to do stuff is great.. until you have a day when you haven't got much to do and it feels really flat...

Anyway, have done myself a little list of the short courses I might want to do which start in a few weeks time, can realistically only afford one or maybe two so need to decide which. For the longer term, I'm still thinking about the Philosophy course for next year, but I have also seen a part time gardening 'grow your own' course which I would need to save up for so would be looking at starting next September (wish I'd seen that earlier for this year actually!).

Making plans for the weekend too which is always good :)

  • Woohoo - made myself get up early for a run and am all hyper and bouncy - woohoo :j

I've narrowed the courses down to two - a gardening one and a herbal medicine one, gardening is winning at the moment, it would mean negotiating a bit of time off work though - that should be OK as they've let other people do it recently, but it's a bit of a sticking point for me as I'm quite down on my holidays already this year and could do with extra flexi-time to make up for that. So may leave the courses till the New Year, not decided yet.

Not been brave enough to go to the Military Fitness class yet but I have agreed to go with a couple of my workmates to a scary Abs workout thing next week when our work gym opens

Nothing to report money-wise, not spent much, not earned much, 12 days to payday!

:rotfl: If Philosophy consisted just of thinking I'd be a professor!

Poor Mrs P, what's she done? Those are pretty good choices to have, enjoy!

  • OK, I've decided about the courses. Well sort of. I'm not going to do any in work time as I want to take advantage of this busy time of year to build up extra hours for holidays. I might look at an evening one although I know I struggle a bit with that on winter evenings :o Was looking at a couple of languages (one almost from scratch and one as a refresher) but I might just do some online stuff instead.

I don't think I'm going to do the OU one - there are so many other things I want to do* that I think I'd resent spending so much time on one thing, so that can be shelved for the future. I will look at gardening etc courses again at the start of the year though and in the meantime, read my books and get some real life practise in!

*Other things include lots of running, gardening, travelling, aforementioned language stuff, and a small plan that me and OH have been hatching to walk the Pennine Way over several/ many weekends :)
