Standing outside last night, we were talking about the huge variety of veg we've got and Mr S said, well we're just experimenting this year to see what grows well, we'll have more idea what we're doing next year...... :D

    :j:j:j
Anyway, garden ramble over! Also did food shopping for the week so we don't have to visit a supermarket again until maybe Friday. Along with a few bits from the freezer I got the week's food for about £25 so pleased with that.

    that *is* good.
And finally, it's my last week in this job! Feels very strange... especially as they are currently knocking down the old building here, it feels very final! On the money front I should have approx £450 left when I get paid at the end of this week, so should be OK until the end of June.

Right, suppose I should go and do something useful.... :)

Oh that will be strange for you! I'd feel weird about that - I went back to see my school a few years ago, it was being knocked down - it felt very grand when I was there, but going back, I could see how inappropriate it is for a modern school. Though why the world needs more girls specialising in media studies, I have no idea

    "Something useful" ahoy..... me too.

Your gardening is way ahead of mine..you've put me to shame!

Yep here I am, doing something useful :rotfl:

Well if you mean properly together (not counting false starts and confusion over a few months).. just over a year.

Yes, well, we'll see... last night I got told off for referring to the cat as 'his cat'..."oh so she's my cat when she's annoying is she?".. so I think I am the cat's stepmum or something :rotfl:

Exciting stuff - trying to decide what to do with my pension from this job, I can keep it where it is or transfer it into new pension, I have no idea, it's only three year's worth and due to pay me about £800 a year when I reach 65.. how on earth am I supposed to know what's best to do now for 35 years time? If indeed I can retire at that age! Thoroughly confused!

Right, just got my payslip for Friday's wages - £529. So add £450 I have in bank, equals £979, about £100 short of what I usually have per month. Will have another £50 from other job coming in mid-June.. but do have to make it last an extra week. Should be OK though.

Are you getting all nervous and excited about your new job?

Garden sounds like it's coming on well, have you got everything planted out now?

I put my runners, peas, courgettes and mangetout in last week - they all grew really well in the "loo roll" pots, I shall definately be doing that again next year.

And funnily enough the cats are always mine if they're lying there looking cute but as soon as they throw up or bring in something half dead, they belong firmly to DH :D

Yep, definitely both nervous and excited! And wishing I had more than a weekend off between them!

There's still a few beans and sweetcorn to go out, oh and butternut squash, other than that it's just tomatoes, peppers and aubergines in pots which will wait until it's a bit warmer. Loo roll pots are brilliant :)

Well he's had the cat for about 8 years, and me for a lot less so she really is his.. she's really funny though, in the morning she fusses over him, but at night only I'm good enough to sit on :rotfl:
