Just found out that my annual leave thing is right, they work it out by full months, so if you leave even a couple of days before the end of a month you don't get that month's allocation - rubbish!

ps Sal, I told you I need to borrow R to give him lessons in being able to talk about things - you are lucky :)

Ok ill lend him out for the weekend. I vowed that this time I would be totally open and honest and if something bugged me or I wanted to know something then I would just ask. Im not going down the road of not talking to each other and he feels the same way. He is very upfront but I like it because I know exactly where I stand :)

Pants about the holiday, what a strange way of working it out

red, sounds like you're doing good! Silly about how work sorted your holiday, you'd have thought that you're doing over half the month so should at least get the extra half-a-month....blinkin idiots!

Stupid isn't it - bit concerned about how much I'll get paid now but it'll be alright I guess.

Woah, if they try that on about the money ..... well, do you have a union? Or the CAB? Holiday is one thing, but money is another!

I think it's legitimate Karma - I have taken 6 more days than I have 'earned' (according to their stupid system) so I have to have that amount taken off my final salary payment. And I've just realised that as I'm only working part of this month then I may not have a full month's pay to start with. Worst case scenario then, I get about half of my normal wages... which is far from ideal, but I have enough to cover all the bills plus about £250-300 extra (depends what I need to buy in the next fortnight, mostly just food though), to last me from 23rd May - end June. And if there are any sticky moments, I have £300 in my account with the overdraft, which I'd rather not touch, but on the other hand I'd rather not default on anything either.

If its acceptable to you, then thats okay, of course. The anomalies created by that system of theirs just keep on rolling along, as you say (erm, kind of anyway - I'm mixing my metaphors here :o)

Morning.. .I can't really see what I can do about it Karma - I've done a bit of research and it's a perfectly legal way of doing things, other companies do the same. The only things I can really pull them up on are that it's bad for morale (like a lot of things they do here) and that there is nowhere I can find that tells you that's how things work (i.e. on the staff intranet). I do have a 'leaving questionnaire' to complete but I already have quite a list of things for that - just trying to think how to put them in a tactful way....

Any news today, hmm, well the sun is shining again which is nice! Mended some trouser hems last night - oh the excitement :rotfl: but quite pleased as I made quite a good job of it.

Feel a bit dizzy this morning - couldn't walk in a straight line when I got out of bed.. bit better now but still not great....

Hi sweetie - dizzy is not good. Infections certainly can cause it, as Sally says - I had a kidney infection a few years ago that did it for me. Yuk! Hope you're okay.
