Aarghh! I always get seduced by this stuff.... oh it only takes a moment. Ha ha. In my defence, when I had the idea of making my own pasta because the gluten free stuff is so expensive compared to normal Value pasta, instead of buying a pasta machine (even with nectar points) I got one on freecycle. And guess what? I've never used it .......... :o

:rotfl: Well at least you didn't pay for it. Mr S was desperate to try making pasta and got his sister's machine that she'd never used. And guess what? We tried it once, it was so much hassle and mess that we've never bothered again :o

    Quick money post:

    In bank: £1093.3
    On pre-paid card: £57
To come from other job: £50
    Total: £1200.30

    To pay
    Phone bill: £47.49
    Lovefilm: £3.99
    Rent: £500
    Total: £551.48

    Remaining: £648.82

I'm not used to having this much money!

I've abandoned the make-up/toiletries challenge - there's no way I can keep it up when I'm buying organic stuff, and I want to carry on with that as my skin is much better and I feel better about it from an environmental point of view. The cheapest I've found that I can get easily (i.e. from Waitrose) is the Duchy Originals stuff, the shampoo and shower gel smell lovely - and that's £3.32 a bottle. I am finding I'm being more careful about how much I use mind you! The only thing I can't get on with is 'natural' deodorant, especially now the weather's getting warmer :o Anyway, I'm not going to suddenly go out and buy loads of make-up or anything, as I have lots to use up, but I feel comfortable enough with my new budget that I don't need to scrimp too much on cheap shower gel etc.

Back from long weekend - which was weird, didn't really do much, kept thinking about things and then it would pour with rain, so spent a lot of time going "what are we going to do" then not doing anything! Anyway, I did get my clothes all reorganised and now have the recess in the spare room as my 'dressing room' :) Did a bit of gardening too of course - not sure if the nematodes have worked but all the slugs seem to have suddenly disappeared!

    Oh, miscounted on the above...

    Total actually £1245.30
    To pay: £551.48
    Remaining: £693.82

But rent has come off now and spent a bit on food and garden stuff at weekend so I actually have £621.84 in the bank + £57 on card = £678.84. Phone bill + Lovefilm to pay and £50 to come from other job pretty much cancel each other out!

The money and the house are going so well for you! I know what you mean about rain interrupting plans to do anything - tho tbh, if it stops you completely, then it sounds like you wanted to just hang - and why not! Its a holiday!

Double hurray on the slugs disappearing!

Well I'm being cautious with the money as I will have 5 weeks between paydays, plus I lose a day's holiday pay from here as I've used too many days (about £60 I think). Should be OK though and once I'm on track with new wages I can get big chunks paid off the debt.

You could be right about the weekend, I've not had much energy! Trying to get Mr S to make any sort of decision about what he wants to do is practically impossible as well (bring back the rolleyes smiley!)

Hmm fuzzy... had day off sick yesterday with headache, runny nose etc - think it might be hayfever so had some Piriton last night and I'm still really fuzzy this morning. At work but not really with it!

Poor you! I gave myself an allergy attack yesterday by sweeping and getting my nose to close to it (note to self: don't bother cleaning :) ) but if your attack is that bad, thats really miserable. Will more Piriton help?

Aargh - total miscalculation on the annual leave front (by me and my manager) - I will actually have 6 days taken off my final pay - although I think HR have made a slight mistake but only by one or at the most two days. Still not good and definitely means I need to keep some money aside. B*gger :(
