I think my next debt attack is going to be the overdrafts.

I have just made a payment of £100 to mastercard, so i am now under the £4000 mark, need to attack the overdrafts, i was thinking about trying to balance transfer them but i dont really want another credit card opened in our name after finally getting rid of two, i think i would much rather just really try and attack them, i should start with the larger one first as it is heading towards its limit and with the interest being added each month it will get there sooner rather than later.
I might set up a standing order to make a regular payment to this account, and then try and add to it, although it is disheartening to know that the interest will eat away at it, but thats even more of an incentive to clear it quicker.

I have been happier lately, it has been a huge buzz being able to go shopping and use real money and not cards, i have not had to come home and go through receipts and total up what is added to cards, i could just pay for things straight away. My oh is on a good wage and this pays for bills, food, kids clubs etc etc, now that i am working weekends i can use my wages to help pay off debt and also if need be buy the kids a little treat, new shoes etc etc.

Thanks Pinky, it feels good to be positive for a change.
I have just listed two unwanted giftcards on ebay, they are for fairly decent amounts, i just dont have a need for them, they were given for returns of items. Hopefully someone will buy them, fingers crossed.

Im back and am going to try again, i have still been paying off debts and not adding to cards, but i just got into a state over constantly thinking about it 24/7, seeing it listed everytime i posted just depressed and upset me and made me angry, so i have changed my signature. It now doesnt state debt or whats paid, maybe at some point i will put it there, i just felt it hindered my outlook and i couldnt cope with the stress, i still cant, inside i feel like crumbling up.
Anyway, i now feel able to come back to the diary, and i will update in my posts. It just can be hard sometimes constantly seeing the mess that we have bought on ourselves, but i will struggle on to defeat it.

Welcome back. I think signatures work well for some people but if it stresses you out don't have one :)

I am still considering doing the open university k101 course, it would start in october so i dont have long to decide. The thing that is putting me off is the exam and the fee of course, it will be £600+. I could pay this over a set amount of months though so it would be ok, it is just a bit of a scary amount. I cant get funded for it as for one i already have a degree, and plus my oh income is too much. I am not saying oh poor me i cant get funding, boo hoo, i am just stating the facts. I dont mind paying for the course, i just want to be sure about doing it first.
I do though, get slightly annoyed that everytime i google info on the course it takes me to other forum websites where they are all on about how they are unemployed and get all funding paid, books, computers etc, when i want to know what the course itself is like and not what they get for free.
