Hi Lynz
I bought a B&Q monaco swing chair last year and it looks really nice, uncovered last week as the weather has improved and still looks as new. Make sure you buy a cover as they can stain.

you are, indeed, a muppet. But a rapidly-debt-reducing muppet who's among fellow muppets who fully understand the ins and outs of your muppetry!

Right, you've got £1150 coming in. You need to give £300 to your ex lodger. You also need to put aside £500 so that you can give your new lodger her deposit back straight away when she leaves. Being a true MSE DFW means that you're already planning ahead for the moment that she unexpectedly announces that she's moving out

According to my calculations that leaves you a maximum of £350 to spend. You're planning to spend £308. You'll have £42 left over to cover your lodger's expenses for the first month - extra electricity, food etc. Is that enough? If so, go ahead with a clear conscience - you've done your budget and can afford a small spending spree. If not, buy the stuff for the lodger's bedroom this month and the stuff for the garden next month.
Does that help?0 -
Nabowla,
Im not putting the money aside for her deposit till month three ( slightly risky, I know) Bought half of the furniture today. In month 2 I am paying the electrician 140 for putting my lightfittings in, and rest for carpeting (quote got from a local firm few months back) Month 3, half towards my sofa debt, half in the account for her deposit back, month 4 same again. Should work out fine... she says... expect this to come back and bite me somewhere painful... Well aint funny how its the little things in life that mean the most? You deserve to spend this money. I know how you feel about spending quite a large sum when you've developed a frugal mindset though- I sometimes find it hard to spend money now too!
We bought a nice garden set when we first bought our house, I kind of made it a priority on the reasoning that it would make us want to stay at home and enjoy BBQs in the summer and not go out spending money. It does kind of work, too. A nice garden is such a nice place to relax.
Enjoy it- you really do deserve it. Looks like a great set too.
