Its a good feeling isnt it when you see those savings in black and white.

It really is - even a few £ makes you feel that little bit more stable :) Enjoy the shops!

Had a lovely day with my sister today. Just pottered about the shops and got a few christmas presents. Was nice to have a bit of me time for a change.

Have a question for you all. If I want to save am I better getting an ISA? What one do I get?? Are you better to get an ISA at the beginning of the tax year??

Depends, unless you have the full allowance now its prob best to get an instant access account until April.

I just applied for a decent one with the AA, 3.15%.

Hi SH thinks are ok here.

Decided to save in my normal savings account and then will open an ISA at the start of the new tax year. I am thinking of doing a payment a day into my savings, this will keep me on track as I have got out of the habit of checking my bank account daily :o

Payday on Friday but going to be a really expensive month as I have to pay the excess on my car, Christmas shouldn't be too bad as I will be drawing out my Xmas savings in December and have already bought quite a bit.:T

Just writing up my budget at the moment and working out my SOA, living on your own and having a big mortgage is making me do this

Hi doodles... SOA are always scary - I never stick to mine but because of the £10 a day challenge we still get by!

as I have got out of the habit of checking my bank account daily

It's hardly the end of the world!

Good idea to open an ISA - I've switched to using mine as my main emergency savings account and am looking forward to growing it in future. The one thing that makes an ISA great as an emergency savings account is the fact that the tax free properties of any money saved in them rolls over from one year to the next :) This means that in time (emergencies aside!) you can build up a nice little nest egg.

I know hardly the end of the world but I dont think I checked it more than twice this month :o

Have written down my SOA but with the excess for my car and Christmas reality is I won't be doing any hard saving till Decembers payday.

Both my DD and dog are poorly today, so today will be a snuggled up in the warm day today. So will be pottering about doing the housework and getting the house nice and sparkly. I then have an assignment to write for my degree. Deep joy.
