Visited a few gyms and now we can't choose, it is between Bannatynes, Virgin or David Lloyds. We did originally want the cheapest but as we will be going in peak times we need a gym big enough incase it gets rammed!
Anyone got any experience of Bannatynes or Virgin? David Lloyd I am not so keen on (my husband is) so if anyone has any comments on any of these it would be appreciated.
Thanks!Our dream has come true...0 -

Would be interested to know the costs if possible, Im currently at the LivingWell in the Hilton, small but undergoing a refurb in the next few weeks, so 'grotty' is a good description.
If I recall the Kents Hill Conference Centre, offers gym membership, detials hereProud Member of the Lose Weight Thread on I Wanna..................

We visited the Hilton gym and thought it was dreadful! My front room is bigger than their gym and it is expensive for what it is.
Bannatyne is £48 a month for 6 month contract (£30 joining fee), and £42 a month for 12 month contract (£20 joining fee).
David Lloyd is complicated as they are undergoing a refurb too so are there is no joining fee at the moment. There are two packages, fitness and pool, and fitness, pool and racket sports. Can't remember the exact prices for all but it is around £60 a month for the fitness and £68 for the fitness and rackets. There are no contracts, but you need to give 3 months notice if you intend to leave.
Virgin is £51 a month, no contract. No joining fee if you join before Monday, can't remember what joining fee is though. If you work for certain companies in MK you can have corporate membership which is £44 a month.
Think we are going to go with Bannatyne.....Our dream has come true...0 -
Does anyone know a man with a van? A nice cheap one. Just looking for someone to collect a sofa from just outside MK and deliver it to my house and help carry it up stairs?0

I pay £44 per month at Virgin (corporate rate) and OH pays £34 (over 55). that's for peak membership, and able to use other clubs also. I found their customer services to very helpful when I had a query about the rates we'd been offered.
Also, I find the staff to be very friendly and helpful - the gym staff actually talk to people who are over the age of 25. I noticed at the David LLoyd that the gym staff esp the females spent all their time chatting to the younger members (or maybe they realised that I'm a Grumpy Old Woman !!) Not saying that I want people coming up chatting while I'm trudging along on the treadmill, but it's nice to least say hello.0 -

Can anyone recommend a plasterer? I think/hope I have someone sorted but we need the job done quite quickly so would like some back up numbers of other plasterers.
