In case anyone's shopping in Ikea between now and Monday, there's a voucher on page 18 of Thursday's Citizen to get a bag of 100 tealights free when you make a purchase (but not in the food bits as far as I can see)Could you do with a Money Makeover?

I was gobsmacked yesterday at the Odeon in MK, I took my kids to the cinema and was feeling generous, because I'd got 2 tickets for 1 with a voucher the kids had brought home from school, So I let them have one of those ice drinks each and I bought a standard size bag of pop corn to share and the total for the 2 drinks and 1 bag of popcorn came to £9.05:eek: . I checked with the chap behind the counter and he said the drinks were £2.65 each, so that makes the popcorn £3.75....
Well next time I going back to sneaking my own refreshments in with me again!

Going to the pictures is no longer a 'cheap' night out. I think the last time we went out it cost us £14 in tickets and £10 for some drinks and popcorn. Plus we were 40 minutes early so we had a drink in Old Orleans - bang goes another £8. For £32 we could have had a decent meal out at somewhere like Pregos:o
The next week we hired a dvd and had microwave popcorn and wine - cost was less than a fiver and I got some booze out of it:rotfl:MFIT No. 810 -
Has anyone tried the new garden centre on the outskirts of Bletchley?MFIT No. 810

I've had a look around - bit like Frosts really but nearer for me.
Huge and loads there.
Good coffee shop/restaurant.
Worth a visit.
In good MSE tradition - lets see how good their January sale is....0 -

I always take my own food/drinks. Its not the cost - its what your getting (or not getting in this case) for your money.
Its worth going via Sainsburys first for popcorn & drinks.
Or for about £10 I bought a popcorn maker & I make up my own bags of popcorn. Its really great for childrens (and adults) parties - or film nights in - and really healthy if you don't put salt or sugar on it.
I've even used food colouring, 100s & 1000s etc for parties. A bag of unpopped corn cost about 75p and makes about 2 buckets of popcorn.0
