Do you know how to hard-set your IP, subnet mask, etc for your network adaptor?
No, I don't know. Can you help me? Please0 -
So for the hard reset, do I keep the cables in.
for the hard reset you dont need anything other than the power adapter plugged in, but you need to hold the small reset button on the back for atleast 10 seconds, this should have restored the router to factory settings, if this doesnt work, then you need to replace it0 -

Have a look at this page for how to hard-set the network details - http://www.home-network-help.com/set-ip.html
You will need to set -
IP address 192.168.123.253
subnet mask 255.255.255.0
default Gateway 192.168.123.254
DNS 192.168.123.254
Reboot your PC
Try running the firmware flashing utility again.
