OMG Sharron! Good luck, I certainly couldn't do it, alhough I have cut down on how much I buy.

What I've started doing is to walk away if I'd just be buying something because it's reduced, not because I wanted it. So far, so good.

Of course people shouldnt join in. Stopping buying tat from Primark will only have an adverse effect on poor little kiddies in India who will either starve or be forced to make even cheaper tat for street markets

Nope, I've been saving up for a lovely dress I've wanted for a little while - so no way am I going to give up on the idea of buying it! Plus I'm going shopping next week on my birthday to try and find a good pair of jeans. Can't give up either!

Perhaps in a month or so I'll give it a try, but not right now - spent so long decluttering my wardrobe this summer that I have very little to mix and match in there now - must fix that first!

So as not to be cruel to sharron who's trying not to buy clothes I'll use the spoiler way of posting so she doesn't have to see, don't want to be mean after all!

It's a 50's style prom dress with a stretchy ruched top so it'll actually fit my bust that'll come to just above the knee with a stiffened white tulle underskirt underneath so the skirt sticks out instead of just hanging over my hips. Oh and it's black with white polka dots. Very well made too - shopkeeper looked at me like I was crazy when I started inspecting the stitching and material but I do like to buy clothing that will last. It's been a long time since I've bought anything brand new - I tend to buy second hand items and customise them (except for underwear of course!).

But after that and the jeans I actually need I may be able to take part. At the very least I'll attempt the ebay neutral way.
