Tia, I know, :( and I'm so impressed you did it again :T

Onto more 'normal life' things, I did what you all said and took fergie and the bleeding bottom to the GP and he has now had 3 doses of lactulose.

Cue mega gurning noises, but no action yet!

Lovely GP registrar who filmed us for his exam, so I think we got a super thorough consult!

Button- they've decided to have movicol as a second stage, as it's more powerful? You look very beautiful in your avvy, sorry you don't feel that way :(

Tine ditto for you, your PG photos on FB were absolutely beautiful, all glowing and how women should be. So sorry you feel 'less than' :( :A

    Bruno, how's OH today?

Scruffy, thanks for the lovely fairy post bib idea, I'm not ignoring it, just weighing up whether me reimbursing the fairy post will be more pricey than just buying the bibs IYSWIM?! Lovely offer :beer:

Sugarspun I've got a working camera at last, so an email should be with you later today :)

I'm just pumping now - not getting much at all.
I get about 8-10ml from each breast even now the milk has supposedly come in - the MW said yesterday that it could take another week or so before I get more is that true?

Also, I don't know if I've let my milk go down fron not expressing enough?
    What can I do?

I already massage before and after pumping, me and little man have skin to skin

Don't wanna waste money on an electric pump if I've blown it and let mi milk go down

    thanks

thanks elle - hadn't seen this post!

Got satchets of lanolin from hospital it.'s AMAZING! My nipple looks fab now after being a bit ming!
Firstly, you should look to Feely and Elle for expressing, they are the expressing guru's round here, I'm sure they can tell you a million things I wouldn't even think about...

But here we go: Breastfeeding is all about signals, your body needs the signals to know to make the milk... If it makes the milk but the milk doesn't get used (pumped or fed) then it re-absorbs the milk and more signals are made not to make milk at that time... What you need to do is get as many signals as possible going on... Loads of skin to skin and if possible, get him latching on too... His feeding would give the biggest signals of all... Pumping in between feeding, especially in the night too... The more you pump / feed now, the more milk you will start producing, don't worry about not pumping enough before now, it's not a lost cause! Nipple stimulation... When you're having your skin to skin, even if he's not latched on feeding, chances are he's having a good sniff and a lick of it.. Let him... When he's not around, give them a little tweak yourself ;) lol also, pumping from one side and stimulating the nipple on the other can help with production... Continue pumping for a couple of minutes after the milk stops coming out just to make sure your body is getting signals to make more milk at that time...

And eat lots of flap jack ;)

Oh Caz what bout the good old Woolies oooppps they've shut down, what a sad loss!!

They're back open on line though!

    http://www.woolworths.co.uk/rf/wlo/navigation/home/index.do

I've got some school trousers for DD1, and some cute clothes or the children at christmas - because I miss my Woolies.

Although good old Ladybird seems to be more expensive than when it was in a 'real' shop!

Caz The bird! It didn't make me laugh - it made me shudder! I've got a thing about birds - i'd have been a hysterical wreck!

Searchie - You obviously need a bigger shoe cupboard! :D

And everyone feeling  - from the pics on here and on facebook, not one of us is a minger! We're all mums of beautiful babies who obviously got the look genes from their mummies! :D

Just catching up but before i do, just got Martins email, scrolling down not really taking it in, when i read the headline 'It's all about Fairiness!', thought we'd been rumbled! That'll teach me to read it properly won't it!

    ETA

Emlou (stands up looking nervous) My name is Sadie and I watch neighbours (sits down and hangs head in shame) and yes that storyline is really annoying me too, but then I find that Bridget really annoying anyway quite glad she's going to get killed off soon.

    Where has MOTM gone?

I am also feeling fat and fed up, I know what i need to do, going on any sort of diet will not help what works for me is swimming, before i got pregnant I was swimming 3 miles a week and it was having a really good effect on my body want to get back to that but what do I do with the baby?

Going to take Ello to be weighed today, Its been a month so we'll see.

Went to Mums and Tots where a new girl mistook El for a 3 month old and kept commenting on how advanced she was, in the end I had to say, she's not advanced, she's 6months, she's just diddy!, cue new girl looking hugely relieved that her 3month old was not a bit slow after all

thanks for that - very reassuring. was worried i'd cocked up by not expressing enough.

I'll get the electric pump, we just had a good hour of skin to skin but I must remember to tweak!! ;)

elle - feelie - anything to add??? how often to express etc?

should i try the frengruuk stuff?

I sent off 2 job applications yesterday, then found another fab one to apply for, except they need to know my sickness record for the last 3 years. I have it for my current job, but at work, and no idea for my previous job. Need to call them, but I've just discovered Izzy has smeared marmite all over my phone. The joys of motherhood. :rotfl:

Very exciting Ladybird! (not the Marmite, the jobs :p)
I needed to give lots of sickness info for a job once, and I ended up saying "this is the last year, but for previous years I have no confirmed written records and I am estimating x and y days". That turned out ok. if it's hard getting the old one you could ask the new people if that would be ok for them?

Yaaay for lactulose? :) Fingers crossed for the internal workings of Fergie! :o

OH was burrowed under the duvets when I left this morning, I just slid Elijah in and ran :D I think she's ok, last night getting E down was another bit of a sleep battle but I did it and let her take a break. Eventually let him cry himself to sleep :( which I really hate but it only took 10 mins at least.
We basically made a rod for our backs with the way we managed him and sleep for most of his first year (pretty much feeding him to sleep then putting him down), but it was because of his reflux and pain and I don't regret it! We're just paying for it now!
