I'm not sure which to get :undecided but I think I'm swaying towards the mini electric

I have the mini electric and it is soooooo noisy. I feel I have to apologise to the hubby (and probably all the neighbours) every time I use it! I sort of regret not forking out the £30.00 more for the swing as its something I use every day. I dont think the mini really copies the rhythm of baby sucking either but I have never tried the swing or any other electric one (apart from a really hurty one from toys r us) so dont know if they would be more efficient for me anyway. Still the mini does the job just about.

The Swing ain't exactly quiet! Rhys finds it oddly soothing.. or maybe he's just afraid of it!:o

Leila finds the mini soothing too. She wakes when I stop it. When I have finished using it perhaps I can just put it in her bedroom and leave it running.

Leila: They didn't, my mum just left her breast pump running!

hmm interesting mooki, I wish I could try beforehand without ending up out of pocket!

ooowwwww! why must my boobs initial let down randomly through the day, it's painful!

I got a whopping 1oz from right boob before and nothing from left with my electric pump (that whistles!?)earlier I got 3oz the last 2 times I used my hand one and I'm convinced there's plenty more to be had if I could be bothered to use the TT.
I've also heard good things about the avent one that you start of by hand and then switch to electric...

I'm off to bed too, night all xx

    Morning all :)

I've been awake since 5am but feel oddly good on it.. (just writing that now so I can read it back and laugh in 12hrs time when I'm dying! :p). Rhys slept 1-5am, had a bottle and went back off reasonable quickly. Then I've been expressing, ordering stuff (down to two bottle teats only! The rest all lasted the same six weeks bang on only!), making the next bottle and [STRIKE]playing Tetris[/STRIKE] generally faffing :o Just seen OH off to work and I'm going back to sleep in a minute.. I hope!

Off shopping later with Mum, so hopefully I can order the bouncer from Mothercare :)

Hope everyone had a good night and has a good day :) xxx

Mel, good luck with battling town today too!
Not seen MOTM over the weekend, have we? Hope the GCSE result celebrations went well - bet it's manic in the Moon household this week.
Also, Button, hope Keira enjoys her first day at nursery :D xx

Morning everyone, I have such a wonderful daughter. She fed at 6.30 last night, went down and didnt wake till 5.30 this morning. Fed her and she's now up but i cant complain!

She has her 3rd set of injections this afternoon so i hope she's okay after them as i seem to remember that the last set are the worst out of the three?

I had a marathon baking session yesterday, trying to get back to OS. I forgot to put the sugar in the carrot muffins so i then decided to make a carrot cake as i still had quite a few carrots left. I like making the muffuns as i can pack them individually in the freezer and just defrost as necessary for packed lunches etc. Not sure how i'll do that with the cake tho ( might just have to eat it all ) Its huge!!

Talking of using the formula cartons. I usually only use them for emergencies ( one is kept in the change bag ) but we were on holiday a few weeks ago. We went to Itlay and took all cartons and then only had to ask the hotel to sterilise the bottles each day. We did take a travel kettle but it would have taken ages to make up all the bottles.

Hope everyone has a good day x

    2. Sis and SIL 1st wedding anniversary.. Sis keeps on about a driftwood mirror, but it's like a piece of art and different people have different ideas of what's nice. Daren't get it wrong! Was considering a box of driftwood, a mirror and a tube of wood glue! ;)

Off shopping tomorrow, mostly for things for Rhys, but will look out for idea then too

The first anniversary is paper - vouchers or tickets?

Hubby speaks the Yoruban dialect from Nigeria but I think he is very shy about speaking it infront of me. I have a CD which teaches basic words and alphabet so if nescessary I will teach her some basic words myself. I so want her to be able to speak some Nigerian. I regret that my Dad didnt speak Arabic to us when I was little and so I have never properly been able to speak to any of my family on his side including my grandparents.
Maybe it would help if you talk to him about the benefits and especially how sad it is that you are unable to talk with so many of your relatives? People who are bilingual tend to find it easier to learn additional languages so it gives an advantage in that way too. Do you/he know anyone else locally who speaks the same language that you/he could meet up with? My husband's school friend married someone Japanese and she goes to a Japanese baby group/coffee morning with their daughter to help with her learning Japanese.
