  • The car money and the monthly money cheered him up. We also went out for tea last night.

Doing the finances yesterday also means I know exactly where we're up to and that I can relax the reins a bit for the holiday (as I hoped), without touching the savings.

He is a good DH normally, he's probably changed DDs nappy more times than me (decided for himself to help me out with bf and c-section recovery) and sorts the kitchen out after I've [STRIKE]been making a mess[/STRIKE] cooking.

thanks susan, we've tried giving solids mid meal according to 'babywise' book, but will see how it works giving him solid at the end...

ok fergus needs nearly 800 cals per day. He only takes 500 ish in milk. The max calories from solids we've managed to get into him is 60 cals. Hmmmmn seems quite too little, and may explain the night waking.

One website suggested a cool idea, egg yolks only scrambled, rather than yolk plus white. I'll try that tomorrow and give him 2 yolks scrambled...

Any other very high energy ideas that aren't too bulky or quickly filling?

    Thanks xxx

Hi Weezl - how many bottles and how many oz on each one is he having per day? Also what food do you give him and how much of it does he eat? Have you got him on 3 meals a day?

I always give Kai his milk before any solids... I will do until closer to a year old. Then I will swop over as I will be wanting him to take more solids than milk by then iykwim.

Thanks folks. She is very excited, it's more of an induction tomorrow so I don't go there until 1:30, but I think they will let her stay to the end.

I'm just dreading her coming home speaking like a scummy tinker! Or worse, swearing! Jesus I should just wrap her up in cotton wool and be done with it. I can't bear the thought of anyone being mean to her too!

Choppy, don't worry about expressing in the morning, you will still have milk all through the day... Your breasts never actually empty, they just keep making milk so it is always there for baby, even if you fed / expressed 10mins ago, they'll still make more for another feed :)

This is very true! The most times I ever expressed in one day is 14 times. That was every hour, for forty minutes! Even then I didn't run out.

When I express, I do so after Tobys first feed. He has one side, then I pump both. Always have enough for his next feed.
