I'd only ever be getting rid of stuff coz we can afford to buy things [STRIKE]and I'm a bit of a snob[/STRIKE] so I'd feel guilty about getting something for free that I can afford over someone else who could be desperate:o

Ah but I only ever ask for/or say yes to offers if it's something I'd actually need and use... :) Like strawberry plants and glass jars for jam/pickled beetroot etc :)

Well hubby has agreed on the God parents... Knew he'd see sense in the end... Just have to figure out what we're doing afterwards now... Then arrange it...

I've not been to the broadway for a long time, we popped into the Red Lion on the Wolverhampton road, mainly because it's walking distance, but it's cheap and cheerfull and the food was good so we'll probably go back...

There was one guy on our group who kept asking for things for the gaming room in his new loft conversion, including black leather reclining chair (must be in very good condition) and a 32"+ tv for playing his games on.. Oh yes, bet he was inundated with offers for those!
oh ill need to start asking for things like that PMSL!:p

Sami, it's not about who can or can't afford anyway, it's about stopping things going to landfill... I've only asked for one thing and that was for a friend LOL... Just put Caitlyn down, hubby's been on Arkhan island with batman all day, don't fancy going and listening to it any more so might watch some chavs on the ipod... Gotta love the iplayer...

There are lots of requests and offers for over stocks from allotments and fruit trees on ours at the mo.

I've given away computer bits, coathangers, tiles (could have blooming done with them now!), paint and even our old cooker, fridge and freezer. Have replied to offers of baby magazines and a scanner, and to a wanted of a particular book. Have got stacks I could put on there but I've not reached that point of laziness yet and may still try selling them first! (or maybe I'm just tight!) :p

LOL You say that searching but I read the FAQs earlier (was looking for the fair offer policy for Sami) and it says "No offering yourself or your children".. obviously a fair few offers of children appearing in the middle of the night from knackered parents! :D

Can I whinge for a minute please?

The monster's been a horror all day. The longest she slept was about 40 minutes, and the rest of the time she's been either screaming herself purple or feeding. We managed to get her down about an hour ago and I know she'll be up soon so I can't go to sleep.

I have a sharp pain in my lower abdomen, not where my external incision is and not where I think the internal one is either, but it is an intermittent sharp nasty pain.

Husband has been cracking jokes to try and cheer me up, but I'm so tired I just don't want to hear it. He keeps telling me how tired he is, too, but he doesn't get up with her in the night, he isn't her sole food supply and he got to sleep for about two hours at lunchtime so I'm totally unsympathetic. Plus he read a news report to me earlier about an autistic boy whose teachers were beating him at school, and because the kid was non-verbal his parents only found out about it when they fastened a hidden recording device to his clothes one day. I kept asking Husband to stop telling me, but he kept on, and I'm heartbroken for that kid.

My best guy friend IM'd me earlier - I said something like, Having a horrible day. You? and he just ignored it and started talking about random stuff. I listen to him when he needs it but he couldn't be arsed to do the same for me.

And a guy I used to date also IM'd me, drunk, first to tell me something serious that he didn't feel he could tell anyone who lives close to him or sees him every day, then to tell me that he loved me when we were dating but never told me, then said "you were my world", then tried to convince me to talk dirty with him.

It has been a very, very weird day. I am so tired I can't see straight, and so whiny I'm annoying even myself.

I'm done whinging now. Thanks everyone. As you were. Congratulations to all the babies doing awesome stuff today and a giant pphhhhnbbbbbttttt to anyone whose children sleep through the night.
