OK, quick question, I am writing out a list of things to talk to the pediatritian about next week and wanted to ask, do any of the little babies here keep their fists closed ALL the time?? Dylan stretches his hands out every now and again, but 98% of the time he keeps fists clenched.

Clenched tight shut, or just fingers curled in but easily moveable?

Rhys sometimes curls his fingers in when he's resting or not doing anything else with them, but I could easily uncurl them. Other times they're splayed out, "high five!" stylee.. He stretches them out to hold on to his bottle (no, Sami, I don't let go! :p) and when he's being fed if he's not touching the bottle he's clasing his hands together or grabbing handfuls of my boob ().

I got my password wrong to log in and they disabled my account with no instruction on how to re-instate it... and they won't let me use my boots card on a different email address...
A very proud Mummy to 3 beautiful girls... I do pity my husband though, he's the one to suffer the hormones...
Krystal is so smart and funny and wonderful I am struck dumb in awe in her presence.

  • No elle, clenched tight !! He will not let you open them either, he crys at me when I try !! Not a ''I'm in pain cry'' more of a ''leave me alone'' cry :)

I think I might add it to my list anyway, all he can say is that its nothing to worry about :)

What questions should I ask ?? Need to ask for a baby massage referral as I can get them free apparently as he is under a specialist, but the 2 that I know of in this area need a letter from the specialist to apply for his place !!

There's only 1 day difference between Leila and Dylan, so I always keep a close eye on him:D

Leila's fists are generally shut and they are pretty difficult to prise open if she doesnt want you to. She open and shuts them when she is feeding and also she likes to find a bit of my skin like my arm (or boobie) and she soothes herself when sleepy by opening and closing her hands on that bit of skin. I love the feel of her doing this as its like she's soothing me! But other than that she generally looks like she's about to clobber someone her fists are that tightly shut.
Proud Mummy to Leila aged 1 whole year:j

Did they give you a list of things to look out for? Ask what he should be doing and what the next thing to look out for is? Sorry, you probably know those already - mine was from a "clueless new mum" POV! :o

Did they think what happened may just affect his movement or could it have an effect on anything else?

My questions related to medication, dosages and time frames, so I'm not much use! Would check my list for you but I'm being used as a pillow by Rhys right now and I don't want to risk waking him up :(
  • so Dylan and Leila are going to be mini boxers together then !! :)

Caitlyn tends to only be clenched tight when she's tired now... She loves clenching one behind her head, have to watch her though, last couple of nights I've put her in the crib and she's grabbed a handul of the bumper behind her head... I just untangled her and made sure it's well tucked in under the mattress...

Mooki, my DD did this when she was a baby it's now graduated into having to stroke arms to go to sleep. It's how I know she's tired, she comes and cuddles my arm and strokes it.

Just coughed up to my DH (he's just got in from work) about the car - I've told him he's in charge of getting rid of my current one.
