What I'm amazed at is that they didn't phone you instantly..
When it happened to our friends' LO, there were the docs and his nurse plus a few others in the room sorting him out, wheeling him back into intensive care etc and another nurse grabbed his file and the phone and phoned his parents straight away as it was happening. Conversation was basically "I can't tell you what's happening as they're still working it out but something is so get here NOW!".

They said they didnt phone us as his life wasnt in danger, just that his O2 levels kept going a bit hey-wire and they could get him below 80% oxygen. Also they knew I would be phoning to check up on him.
I remember that post, but its a later on one that you posted that is sticking in my mind, when you had to have a daily conversation with them. The two best things I have done with my life

its croup! it sounds so bad though and if youve never heard it before then you would think it was more serious!
Hi caz
Hope Abi is ok today. Ds1 had croup OMG the first time he got it was in the middle of the night, it really is so scary isn't it!! We phoned an ambulance, he just couldn't breathe it was awful. Once he was diagnosed we were told about the steamy bathroom thing and did that each time he got it afterwards, which amazingly works so well....We were told virtually all children grow out of it naturally by the age of 7yrs old and his last bout of it was when he was just coming up for 6yrs, he thankfully hasn't had it since.
Hope her party goes ahead as planned and she is ok...maybe give her a nice steamy bath in the day, see if it helps keep it away:)Unless someone like you cares a whole awful lot,
Nothing is going to get better. It's not.0 -

Dylan stretches his hands out every now and again, but 98% of the time he keeps fists clenched.
Ryan is only just recently in the last 4 weeks started opening his hands up.
If you look at my FB pics, majority of them for the first 3 months show him looking like he's a boxer ready to fight (like my profile pic) Are you on my FB? I'm sure you are.
Anyway, I used to worry but he doesnt do it so much now, I think it might be a feeling safe thing, as when he has a bottle or goes to sleep he clenches his fists, or likes to be holding something really tight.:j Baby boy Number 2, arrived 12th April 2009!:j0 -
Morning all x
Well me and DH went out last night and Daniel stayed over at my mum and dads. We were in for 10.30:eek: plus I knew I could have a lie in this morning, but I woke up at the same time Daniel normally does! Oh well it's DH's 30th birthday today and we are at my mum and dads for tea
However somewhere in today we have to pack for our trip to Scotland - we go tomorrow and we have to go shopping for last minute bits.
Hope everyone is ok and those that need them have some virtual ((hugs))

have been up all night with abi and i think this has went into her chest, her cough sounds worse and she got up during the night to ask for medicine as she was sore:( been trying to keep her fluids up but think its going to be a trip to the doctors today. hopefully she is still up for her party as i dont know how to contact all the parents from the nursery?? she is still asleep so will leave her until she gets upWhat's for you won't go past you0
