    thanks for your honesty.
i have to admit lots of people saying 'gas and air only' or 'just use pethidine etc' i hadnt given too much thought to the possibility that i would have to use epidural. but after talking with tia te other day i realised it was the best thing for me. birth plan now has...

Whatever is best for mum and baby
    epidural
as much mobility as possible (i know i may not get this but even to walk round my delivery room a little would help)

the one i want at the end of this is a safe delivery and a baby

I wanted a natural birth ideally. I wasn't keen on an epidural because of the catheter and being stuck in bed, and I didn't want other pain relief.

In the end, I had a very unnatural birth - induction, epidural, lots of monitoring and was prepped for a c-section.

Immediately after the birth and for a little while after, I had feelings of inadequacy and was quite upset.

However, now (19 weeks) I don't feel bad or upset by it. It still wasn't my ideal, but it all happened for a reason, and it was the best thing for us.

Next time round (if there is a next time) I'd like to try without an epidural. If I'm in the same situation again, and end up being induced with high blood pressure, I will take the epidural with no guilt or shame.

Those two are mutually exclusive. (Although active labour would decrease the likelyhood of your needing/wanting an epidural.) Have you read Active Birth by Janet Balaskas?

yes i have my hands full but the simpsons are on so all is quiet in the morrison household PMSL!!!

Jillie talk this through as much as you can with midwifes/doctors beforehand so you know exactly what will happen. i think that not knowing whats going on at the time is more scarey and if you know whats coming then you will be more calm and focused. i hope that you get the birth you want but be open to take whatever is required

Alexandra seems to have taken to doing one huuuge poop late afternoon - but quiet ones so first you know is when they overflow the nappy
This time the victim was the jungle swing... it's now in the washing mashing with another innocent by-stander... Raffi! Oh I hope she doesn't realise he's gone  He'll be back in an hour! Honest!

Tesco are selling DVD box sets of childrens stuff for £6.71 for 3 DVD's, and you get 200 extra Clubcard points.

I got Charlotte a mix one with Bob the Builder, Thomas the Tank Engine, Pingu and others on, but there were other sets too.

I'm putting it away for Christmas :D
Here I go again on my own....
