Jakesmummy wrote: »Glamazon - With the SMP bit when claiming tax credits they actually disregard the first £100 per week, so say smp is £120, you're only classed as earning 20pound a week, easiest was i found to do it was work out what your total earning for the year will be, for example lets say £15,000, then if you'r on mat leave/smp for 39 weeks minus £3900 from that so you only declare earnings of £11,100. I hope that made sense!!! I never knew this first time round and by the time I found out it was the next financial year so there was nothing i could do about it! x
Ok - i apologise for my blondness, but its late!
When I fill in my renewal next spring - i put my earnings for 2009/10 in as my earnings minus £3900?(I will have taken the full 39 weeks).
ETA: 26 weeks are at full pay, and 13 weeks are at SMP.
So I need to work that out?
ETA#2: I'm so dumb sometimes! I'll still need to take of £3900, for 39 weeks of £100 disregarded! DOH!:beer:0 -
3 you only minus the money from the SMP, so just deduct £1300
ETA - Oh I may be wrong then !!The two best things I have done with my life

i think you still just deduct £3900, im pretty sure thats right but ive just had the basic smp for the whole 39 weeks so thats what they told me to do. on the weeks where it was full pay does it still say smp on your wageslip?0 -
3, it's 39wks as you'll be on SMP for 39wks but had your wages topped up to full pay for 26wks due to your employers policy0
