Hope you had a good day Wol....you need your sleep though...if you miss out on a good nights kip then try & have an afternoon nap Honey.

Good morning Wol, hope you and the menagerie are all well. I am sure Christmas Day will go fine, you don't have to talk that much with your sister if there are others there, just try and relax and enjoy your time with Dad and Mum. Then come home, let the piggies out for a charge round the living room before all piling on the sofa with the Pringles and the Quality Street and watch some really naff Christmas telly - bliss! One life - your life - live it!0

hi Wol - hope the cold isn't upsetting things too much at the Wol'ery.
could be worse weatherwise my cousin (Glasgow) is travelling to Orkney today - he had better put his skates on - literally
Got a busy few days coming up so Happy XMAS one and allI think I saw you in an ice cream parlour
Drinking milk shakes, cold and long
Smiling and waving and looking so fine0 -
I got my knots badge in Cubs if it helps........:)
:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Cheers GJ .......another Dibber dobber......there's a few of us around
I can still do reef, granny, slip and sheet bend (I always thought it was sheep bend when I was younger :rotfl:). But I'm not as adept at undoing them any more -
Square lashing () was quite fun on camp and came in useful for setting up my runner bean poles this year
But I never mastered the round turn with two half hitches...which is probably why my clothes line keeps falling down (admittely it did bring the outside lantern off the wall in the process last time
)
Hope the Xmas preparations are going well and you;re not finding it too difficult to get about with the knee and the weather.......

Hey Wol, hope you had a good sleep and are feeling a bit better today.
Hows are the piggies doing?
Hi Pingu
Much better today thanks..
I had to abandon the car after I left Lula yesterday and walk half a mile to see the counsellor owing to the treacherous condition of the roads as the temperatures plummeted by 6pm to -3deg C.
Finally got back home safely at about 9pm (after yet another empty handed visit to Sainsbury's en route for gluten free sausages - twice now I have been in and shelves have been stripped of sauasages - plenty of bacon and turkey - but NO sausages ....is everyone having bangers and mash owing to the weather)
Spent the next two hours cranking up the heating in Piggy Palace and dispensing hay, antibiotics etc...and also attending to Beechies bottom again _pale_. He has been worryingly off colour with an oily coat and diarrhoea again..which is why in all honesty I agreed to the echocardiograms....however he seems a bit more perky today. Muffin seems to be fully recovered and has really perked up.:j. And the noise she and Bailey make in their temporary cage in the lounge has actually perked Grommie up as well although he is still very thin and needs feeding special food each day (I think Grommie is missing Fleure)
I'm feeling much more positive about the piggies today - I really was getting very worried about the possibility of them having a sudden downturn over Christmas as they should have had their antibiotics stopped yesterday and vulture vet will not prescribe an alternative antibiotic without performing the echocardiograms.
However I cancelled the echocardiograms today owing to the state of the roads, and have rebooked them for January. If they have heart problems it;s not going to be life threatening over Christmas aslong as I make sure they don;t lose weight and give them extra food. I;m more worried about infection and as long as they stay on an antibiotic it seems to keep the respiratory symptoms manageable so I'm carrying on with their existing meds. My normal local vet has said they would be happy to consider changing the antibiotic to oxytet if necessary (which is the one i think they should be on anyway) and as they are nearer to me (and have better opening hours over Christmas) I feel I now have all angles covered.
So the next two days are pottering around, tidying up, wrapping pressies amd ceaning out Piggie Palace in time for Xmas:cool:
Hope you have a good Christmas my dear - and that all prerpations are done and it is now calm and chilled in the Penguin household:cool:

Hi Wol
Sorry for not phoning..have been feeling under the weather (gippy tummy, bad headache, sniffly, bad cough). I shall now be spending christmas on my todd - must try and get out tomorrow as I need some additional food (mince pies, satsumas, onions). It is snowing here again:mad: I havent dug my car out after the first dumping so it is staying put, however, I did notice that one of my neighbours has put a cover on her car (too late for me) and I am ever so slightly envious of it:rolleyes:
Havent done much work - ok truth time, I haven't done any work today and have just vegged out on the sofa.
Have a good christmas one and all:D0 -
