Thanks for posting the update, Numpty - I'm terrible at phoning, and am going through some admin traumas of my own, but its good to know.

    Hi everyone

Thanks for your kind wishes. The stream flooded friday early afternoon -(yep friday 13th!).....

I realised when I woke up and checked the weather forecast that it was a foregone conclusion so had been making preparations all morning

All piggies were safe inside the house just in case and I had cancelled a 2.00pm vet visit for Fleure as I knew if i went I wouldn;t be able to get back across the bridge (and I'm quite chuffed that it burst it's banks as I predicted at 2.30pm on the nose!....and that Z who was dropping in for a quick visit managed to arrive 40 mins before it did so otherwise he'd have had a long wait for a cup of tea...and it meant I had an extra pair of hands to help move stuff upstairs :D)

    The good news is that
    a) it didn;t rise high enough to test the flood doors
    b) It didn;t rise high enough to enter any of the properties above floor level so didn;t ruin any of the neighbours carpets
    c) because I had all the air bricks removed, unlike some of the neighbours, I didn;t get flooding in the sub floor void (there isn't one anymore - it was all concreted in when the airbricks were removed during the rebuilding work early last year).
    d) at peak height, it missed flooding Piggie Palace by one inch :T..so thank goodness I instructed the builders to raise the concrete base for it by 10cm.
    e) the new bridge survived despite the demolition attempt of a rather large log brought down by the flood water
    f) all back to normal by 5pm that day
g)the awful weather on saturday didn't cause any other problems apart from some leaky guttering
    :beer::beer::j:j:dance::dance:

    PHEW!!!

So I've been catching up tonight on the work I had planned to do friday. Still behind but feeling a bit better (less apathetic/drained) and determined to stay focused so I can get rid of the stress this backlog (and DT client in particular  ) is causing me.

Piggies are still requiring a lot of attention - particularly Fleure and Beech.......and although they don;t seem to be improving, and have good days and bad days, they are both on the whole not getting any worse.

Hope to be back on MSE at the end of the week.

Good news on the stream Wol, hopefully that'll be the worst day for it this winter :)

As for the other stuff, glad the piggies aren't getting worse and shame the work situation is being a pain...let numpty help out with those e-mails ;):)

Hi Wol - glad to hear it was okay over the weekend - those preparations take a lot of time, from the sound of it, but you must have slept more securely.
