do what feels right for you.....and if it starts to become inflamed or swollen then for goodness sake stop and rest it
Not seen anyone about my neck, but if it's not better by Wednesday, i'll see the man i went to when i put my back out - my folks are regulars there. Just wish it didn't cost so much - things are a bit tight until i can get another CC deal.

Hiya Wol Honey.
I really hope Bandit is OK...good luck at the vets today ...fingers crossed he will be showing improvement.
You are doing a great job & sending you <<hugs>> as sounds like you need them too.

Bandit is still under the towel, but not getting any worse..Wound still looks OK - no sign of infection....althouhgh still early days:cool: He was in a lot of pain late last night but a drop of (guinea pig) painkiller in liquid feed perked him up. Vet says Ok to carry on with painkiller in short term if necessary. Next vet visit in 7 days unless there's a problem.
Still keeping him on antibiotics and now vet has suggested also dosing him with arnica/echinacea/rescue remedy/Vit C to boost his immune system. I've bought all the necessaries and I've also picked him loads of milk thistle (like dandelion but more prickly - again good for the immune system - guineas tend to love it or hate it). So let's see how we go.....

Hi All
Bandit still hanging on although not as chipper. Bit worried infection is coming back so back to vets tomorrow if he doesn;t improve today.
Can't believe how much better it is with the piggies in their new quarters - I used to worry so much when they were left outside in the rain or wind. Now they are much happier and can talk to each other....and they can stay warm and dry.
Had the fright of my life late tuesday evening - had just fed piggies and a massive large stripey buzzy thing divebombed me and then followed me back into the house and wouldn;t fly out again :eek:...in the end I isolated it in the utility room and had to resort to extermination spray..:o..Once it had stopped flying/buzzing...... permanently........(and I had stopped shaking)........turns out it was a queen hornet over 3cm long :eek:. What it was doing flying around in the dark I do not know. Feel a bit guilty about ending it's life as they are getting more scarce......but then again the idea of being stung by a grumpy queen in the middle of the night did not really appeal
Bin a bit poorly myself over last couple of days - not sure what - slept through most of the last two afternoons and then throwing up most of yesterday evening...very unusal for me. Just in case I might have poisoned myself, I'm purging the fridge and feezer this weekend
Have set myself the target of getting all backlogged paid work finished by end of next week (it's been getting further behind throughout the summer owing to builders). Finished one off on tuesday - hoping to do one today having slept through most of yesterday....another one tomorrow and then can start making appointments to see new clients and will be pretty much back on course. (Although Mount Kilimanjironing is another matter:o). Have accepted a job to present finance workshops to female entrepreneurs in northern ireland later in october - will be my first trip ever to Belfast.....shame I won;t have the time to even explore the city....let alone visit a certain mad sheep further down south
As far as the planting for the monkey garden goes - I have made a list after looking at all the Hampton Court flower show photos of the plants I need for the planting scheme. Got a few :rotfl: plants last weekend which are now "positioned" but not planted yet (and nowhere near enough to fill the space ) and am looking forward to going to another garden centre this weekend with KC to get some more:j:j....(and this place has piggies too.....so will have to resist the temptation to acquire some new friends for the bachelor boys)
Well that's all for now - must get myself together (ie out of my dressing gown) to finish this piece of work today
Hugs to all

I have a few friend for who that would be quite welcome :rotfl:
Sorry you're not well Wol, you take care of yourself, you can hardly afford to lose weight - but it's the fridge/freezer you're purging?
Planning the planting sounds fun - and wandering around a nursery with KC should be great. The weather forecast for this weekend is good (however I shall be 6,000 miles away enjoying early summer:j) I'm trying to plant up a shrubbery-ish having been inspired by your garden.....but I'm not as organised as you. I see cheap perennials in
Lidl and then have to clear a space to plant them :rotfl::rotfl:0 -

:rotfl::rotfl: Olive - I need cheap perennials as I tend to overfill the borders with evergreen shrubs and have no space to plant anything else that will survive (all my perenniels get crowded out). So spring is really colourful but the rest of the year is.....well a bit green. However with all the new border space, I am determined to incorporate perennials and roses into the planting scheme....and have more colour schemes than just pink
.
:j:j to one last sleep til Africa.....and seeing Popeye again :j:j
Hope you have a lovely time - how long are you away for?

Hugs for Bandit & I now have Garden Centre envy ... must actually do some work in mine, of the weeding variety unfortuantely. Need another bonfire me thinks.
Something fishy will be happening soon0 -
Throwing up *and* a queen hornet :eek::eek: neither of those are good! And Bandit's still not well
poor little mite.
I hope you're feeling a bit better, Wol - I'm looking forward to meeting up, it will be nice to potter purposefully, so to speak..... remember to bring your list with you!
I've just twigged the format of your post's title .... very nice. Very subtle.....2023: the year I get to buy a car0
