Have had a sh$te week at work so far, eg, one vendor said to me cos I haven't managed to generate a viewing in the 10 days I've been marketing it "so your as useless as the H£lifax then" and when I said I'm sorry you feel that and I am trying, he said "yes you are very trying"!!:mad: Blooming man, anyway I behaved in a professional manner till the conversation ended then I swore like a trouper and went outside for a fag!! :rotfl::rotfl:
I've had two 2 1/2 hours of mentoring on NVQ level 3, just what I needed, but signed up, 2 tests done and answered the bank of questions. Have told boss she will have to cover the office for me when the lady next comes, as sitting tests whilst answering the phone etc is not on!!
DD2 finds out her A level results this morning, though she's undecided whether she wants to go uni or not
DS, still here, having a chilling time before going back to Munchengladbach. It's best mates bday today so have to see her and also call at sisters to pick up her tiny, tiny tortoise that we are looking after whilst she's away.
On a flying note TOOTS - I need another star for kitchen!! WTG me!! :j

Hi LL, great idea as we're in the same boat, when I say we I mean me really as I pay for my girls and never received any maintenance or anything.
I think I'll do the same re the bank account for DD1 when starts college, I'll set up a standing order. I wondered did you pay for travel costs on top of that or let your son pay for it out of his allowance?
I've already paid for DD1 to get her pens, writing pads and stuff. It's never ending all this and very expensive.DFW Nerd 267. DEBT FREE 11.06.08

Hi Triker DS had to go by train, so we paid for the season ticket (fares are very expensive!) but he had to juggle everything else.....if he decided to buy a CD etc instead of lunch then he soon learnt he would go hungryhe thought we were very mean at the time but now he has done a year at uni he is grateful because he had some idea of how to cope......while his friends tend to blow their money on drink then complain nothing is left.....he has been known to say 'well if you budgeted it would be easier' :T having said that student loans are totally insufficient, so we are now paying his rent so he is able to budget everything else.....still I hope one day he will get a good job & it will all have paid off  Hope you are taking it easy today xx

Morning all!
I've been reading your comments about EMA's and students etc - just wondering about the travel costs, can't they get student bus passes or train passes? That would help with travel - I had a bus pass when I was at college and it was much cheaper. Sorry if that's completely obvious!
Welcome Atrebor
Rach you sound horribly ill, hope you are on the mend soon
Greenbee, if you feel like going back to bed and reading then that is what you should do. You can't be on the go all the time, you are allowed to relax occasionally!
Well, DH announced last night that he is going to blitz the kitchen on Saturday. Seeing as he'd done loads of washing up on Tuesday, and then yesterday spent ages tidying up his dumping grounds I was quite impressed! I told him that, and he said that he's been trying to make more of an effort lately. I suggested that we both spent 10 mins every evening tidying up before bed, as that would keep us on top of things more, and he thinks that's a good idea. He's also been making more of an effort to be affectionate, so it's all lovely round here! :A
I'm really tired this morning, but had a quick tidy up last night, have decluttered LR floor and moved out my chest of drawers so it is facing me as I sit on the sofa. This way I can tidy it up easier and also clear up all the bits that have fallen down around where it was, before I put it back. It's amazing what's on the floor where the COD was! Hopefully at some stage I will find my ruler, as I lost mine then borrowed DH's and lost that too!"Snowflakes are one of nature's most fragile things, but just look what they can do when they stick together."

Hi all,
I seem to have fallen off the wagon before I even got back on it! I have done what i usually do in the summer hols & think I have ages & end up cramming all appts etc into the last couple of weeks!
So I've had new laminate fitted in the hall on Tues & car serviced yesterday which meant a day wandering round Derby. (V dangerous - ended up in a tattoo shop!). I'm having hair cut this afternoon & I also want to make an appt for a manicure next week. Then there are shopping trips with DD for school, GCSE results & enrollment days next week.
Lots of hugs to those those who need them, esp Kaz, sorry to hear about your puss, it's a painful time.
Congrats to Jo on the new job! Brilliant!
JulieJim re deodorant. I know Lush have been suggested before, but if you go in & have a chat to an assistant they very often give small free samples out. When I mentioned I was reluctant to buy stuff there for my DD beause of her excema the assistant suggested a few products she might be okay with & I came out with a few bits & pieces for her to try for free!
