    Evening all,

Home from the Air Show - it was really good, although my left arm did get sunburnt (despite suncream) as that was the side that was constantly in the sun because of the direction of the runway. My favourite of them all, apart from the Blades team (all ex Red Arrow pilots), was the Strikemaster aircraft in the Kuwait colours, which was actually the first plane we say performing - the commentator was brilliant and very knowledgable, and had quite a few funny anectdotes. I only managed to get a few photos as only had my camera phone, and the planes would fly by so fast, that it couldn't keep up - had to delete quite a few photos of just the smoke trail, and in the end, I gave up as I was missing things by trying. Got a photo of the Gnats (the first Red Arrow planes) who were good, and luckily caught the Red Arrows when they were in formation on their very quick fly-by. I would definitely go again next year, as it was a lovely day out (if a little long - perhaps I would take a picnic blanket so that I could lie down and a better packed lunch as all of the food and drinks were expensive). Some people had obviously been before, and took tents and picnic chairs (we bought 2 there so I got to sit down) and huge coolboxes with lots of yummy food. The worst part was the portaloos though, as we went when we first got there, and the toilets were so high, I ended up a bit wet (sorry if TMI) and so did my Mum - luckily the other 2 that I used were much better, and I'd had the good thinking to bring alcohol gel with me to use afterwards.

Off to have a shower now before putting the dinner in the oven. OH has gone to his shooting club, despite having stood up all day and being tired, but says he'll be home around 8.30, so I'd better get a wriggle on - need to empty dishwasher and tidy up the mess from where he made sandwiches this morning.

    Hope everyone is well.

Glad you liked "Push" LL and T.

Hugs to everyone who needs or wants one.

Where's the week gone? I've been rubbish on my first week back :( I've spent most of the time car/job hunting. We managed to buy a car yesterday. More than we really wanted to spend, (not that we wanted to spend anything of course!) but we've got one that should last us another 10 years at least. Rather than buy something for £500 that might break down and will need replacing in a year. Was rather down about it yesterday as the redundancy thing has sucked the joy out of buying something that should be quite exciting. Instead it's just something else to worry about! Anyway...what cleaning have I done...pretty rubbish really! Will try and do some more this evening :)

Jennybee - that's not bad for your first week back! Remember that it won't be as quick as it was when you had been flying regularly.

Re. the car - it's probably a sensible move (but I'd never find a new car particularly exciting )

As for the job hunting, I'm sure things will turn up. Remember August is a particularly quiet month, so don't worry too much, just try to get feedback on CVs and work up several different versions, plus covering letters. Plus, if it's appropriate to what your DH does, get him on linked in and make sure he updates his profile and connects to everyone he knows, and gets a few recommendations too!

Jo and I have both just been through this (Jo had a particularly tough time), but we've both managed to find something else pretty quickly, so it can be done!

greenbee - thanks. I've never heard of linked in...will have a look at it!

I'm a bit sad about things like new cars! It doesn't happen often and previously I've found it quite exciting (like a 6 year old with a new toy to be honest!!)
