Sounds like you've had a 'bit of a day' - that could be the understatement of the year me thinks.
I'm so pleased dd has been given the all clear and that the insurance is paying out without hassle.
I'm guessing that your dd checked herself because of your diagnosis - poor girl must have been petrified - as must you for that time of not knowing.
All I can say is I'm sending more positive vibes Blackpool way for you to catch.
Take special care of yourselves.

You certainly have had an up and down day. I'm so glad it has ended with two big UPs - a healthy daughter and an end to money worries. I will be celebrating when you are debt free, you have been an inspiration along the way.Total debt: 1 January 2007 £[strike]49,387.79[/strike] 1 January 2012 £[STRIKE]19,312.85[/STRIKE] 1 August 2012 £11,517.620

Fantastic news Taxi, so pleased about your daughter and the payout.
Let hubby make his own choices, but if hes anything like my husband, he tried to do everything all the time - I was constantly worrying about him, he got so tired and grumpy! He was trying to be helpful, but when you need help and support, or just company cos you cant do much - he is more useful at home with you than at work (unless that is what you prefer of course!) He sounds a lovely man though, so I hope you find the right balance. If my journey taught me anything, it is how important family and home are compared with money and things - I would have traded everything I had to know that I was going to live XXX I am luckily through that now, but I must admit my debt free journey is definately now a scenic one, as I want to enjoy life, although obviously in a MSE way. I found that I was putting everything into clearing the debt, and not living my life - and I am not fussed now if it takes me longer, it will still get paid off.
Sorry, that ended up a bit of a sermon, but much as you want the mortgage cleared, that may not be the support that you need - it can maybe wait until you are healthy again and can clear it quicker then. You said earlier in the thread that one of your pleasures is to drive out to the country - this may be a treat that you can enjoy regularly with hubby if you both take the time to chill - maybe use the pressure that debt free relieves to do some things that feed your soul, even though the mortgage is still there.
Ill disappear back off under a rock until the coast is clear ........................

Thanks everyone xxx I'm so glad I've got you lot here xxx
I have every intention of savouring the time I have left on this earth however short or long.
The money will allow me the freedom of choice.
I am away with DD2 to a fellow MSERs place at the end of july and I'm really really looking forward to that before the next round of treatment.
I am looking forward to spending lots of time with JJ and doing loads of things with him over the coming years.
I'm looking forward to booking a holiday in the uk somewhere peaceful and relaxing with DH as and when treatment allows and knowing there will be enough in the bank to pay the bills.
And when fully recovered I'll be going to Cuba again on holiday x0 -
Blimey, Taxi - it's never quiet with you, is it?
Still, I'm DELIGHTED at the good news for DD and you. I would have a few biccies with the celebratory tea, and if I were DD I would be getting myself a right reputation as a weekday drunk at this very moment! :rotfl:
Glad things are looking up. We need to have a virtual party for when you are debt free, so let us know so we can get the drinks and nibbles in (tea and biscuits also available!).Please call me 'Pickle'
