She only knew the operation date as the operating list was brought up only 5 mins previously.
The scans that I'm having have no bearing on my operation.I have to have this operation regardless.
If cancer cells were found in my lymph nodes on examination of the tissue removed then I would need the scans to see where it has spread.
They are giving me the scans as I have had a lot of pain in my bones and ribs in case it has spread...these scans only then affect whether I have chemo etc....
I will definitely be having lump removed plus surrounding tissue and sentinel nodes.
Then I have to wait 2 weeks for results of those....
If sentinel nodes also show cancer signs I'll have to have another operation to remove loads more lymph nodes to have those tested and then scans(usually but I'll be one step in front as will have had scans)
If nothing has spread I'll then have radiation treatment....that's a definite
If it has spread...it'll def be chemo followed by rads.
To complicate it more I may have chemo anyway if it hasn't spread!!!!!
It's a battle anyway even with just op and rads but I will do my best to fight it and try and stay strong.I'm just trying to sort everything in my head before I go in so that I'm using all my energy to recover.0 -
Thanks Lenza....we must have cross posted there..lol
I now know the date..spoke to another BCN ..so just waiting for her to phone me back re the scan dates....
DS3 gave me a diary the other day and it is coming in very handy as I write everything significant in it incase ESA,insurance etc need to know dates of stuff.
As I put the operation in I saw that I have complimentary therapy the day before....I'd forgot about that.
I have looked at the macmillan site but that's all I've done on it ..read....don't know howI would feel about applying for a grant to be honest.....but well worth knowing about if I was struggling..thanks0 -

Sure is and I've just realised that I can finish the ESA form as they want to know the date I go in hospital.
They also want an original copy of my birth certificate..which I don't have..I have a copy ...wonder if I could chance my arm with that.
Need to hang the washing out and put some more in and nip to the shops.0 -
Good news then Taxi, at least it has given you a rough outline of what to expect.
Randomly inserted..must put the washing on the line too- you just reminded me. lolBlackadder: Am I jumping the gun, Baldrick, or are the words 'I have a cunning plan' marching with ill-deserved confidence in the direction of this conversation?

If you can't find your birth certificate, a copy of your passport should do, as they would have needed your birth cert to issue the passport.....Successful women can still have their feet on the ground. Have plenty of news for you...lol....
I am having bone scan tomorrow....need to go to hospital at 10 am and have some dye..then go back at 1pm for the scan.
I'm having my liver scan on 14th June
Complimentary therapy 17th June
Operation 18th June...
Rang ESA today to give them all the information but what it said they needed from my form in the letter was not what they were asking for...so nothing sorted there as I'm waiting for them to phone me back!!!!!
I knew they would be a load of hassle...they pee me off as people that have never worked seem to get everything but people like me who are ill and have paid into the system all their life struggle to get anything..it makes me mad!!!!0 -
Hope tomorrow goes well thenBe who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

Seems like June is going to be one busy month for you, Taxi! Fully understand where you are coming from re the benefits hassle - the ones at the bottom get everything given to them, the ones at the top have accountants who can fiddle their books to make sure they don't pay more than they have to, and suckers like me and thee who have paid taxes etc from our wages have to virtually grovel to get anything. Still, we must remain calm and tranquil as all this moaning won't be doing you any good, will it?
