Hope there is a thaw soon Taxi - scary on the ice - I'm wanting rain and wanting it NOW.... stamping me feet and having a real strop. I will not be impressed if the weather stops us travelling to London next week to see dd. Stomp, stomp, rage......I sound a real spoilsport - I don't want to deprive the kids and animals from their fun in the snow - but whoever's controlling the weather - please let it snow enough to make snowmen and sledging then let it rain before it ices and slushes over - then repeat the process.... SIMPLES - keep everyone happy!

Have fun with your grandson at Christmas Taxi - have a good one everyone

Am really peed off and disappointed as it is snowing really hard and sticking so DH says I'm not allowed to drive in it!!!!..he is right of course but we really need the money to pay the mortgage and end of the month bills.
There are compulsory shifts christmas eve, boxing day and new years eve all with £100 fines if not covered...DH will cover these and I'll just be worried while he's out so that I won't settle and we'll lose loads of money over the period if it doesn't go away soon...We've already missed both shifts monday, both shifts tuesday, todays day shift and will lose tomorrows day shift..he has to work tomorrow night..I just want to cry!!!

Yes we are tied to a company and believe you me he will fine ..he is ruthless..the reason it is the best and busiest firm is that he does enforce rules. At the end of the day if the customer can't get a cab then they go elsewhere and we lose that customer for good.He really does look after the customers.I do agree with his rules most of the time especially the christmas ones but snow never sticks here!!!
I have lived here 30 years and this is only the 2nd time it has ever stuck here..so that leaves the problem that drivers here most likely have never driven in snow..so not only do I have to watch myself I have to watch every !!!!!! else....
Scottish, yorkshire.lake district people have probably driven in it most years...
It had thawed mostly on main roads with the rain earlier..and I thought the rest would be gone by tomorrow....it would have been ok if it happened after new year when its quiet

just seems a little rough if the weather is making it unsafe to drive that you have to go out!!
i can understand the rules ok ,,especially over xmas as people will use a variety of excuses to dodge work especially at this time of year ,,,but several inches of snow are not an excuse!!

That's how we feel about it as well.Going to phone him tomorrow to see what's what...he knows how bad it is because he had at least one of his cabs wrote off on monday night as it was on it's way to pick my daughters up at the time..luckily the driver was ok and my girls weren't in the cab.
