Did he donate it to charity and become a philanthropist no he destroyed it and became a philatelist.

It sounds like the actions on a Bond villain.

I like the irony of sending it to himself on an envelope through Royal Mail and running the risk of it getting lost and increasing the value that way.

The only thing is unless it was a current UK stamp, which are available at all Post Offices and therefore worth only face value, then it wouldn't be any use for posting a letter; and therefore essentially worthless.

But its worth £2.5m plus, surely if it was on an envelope it would be delivered by Premium First Class within 1 hour of posting and the post man would turn up in a limousine to deliver it on a silver plate

I cannot believe that not one person who has read this posting knows of anyone who has recieved a cheque or had any contact from "The london mint"
    THE SILENCE IS BREATHTAKING

Waiting for my cheque, nothing yet. Was expecting it around 17 September as that was the advertised 28 days after receipt.

Will post if it turns up.

NOBODY got a cheque from them, they are not the Official London Mint, just some conman on the hope of making a quick buck from gullible folk prepared to forward coins on to him\her.

As has already been said at the very start of this thread, the only real authentic way of getting some money for such a coin is to sell them on Ebay. Those so called "numpties" that right now are laughing at the silence :D
