  • I think it's because down here, if you're having the Nuchal test thingy, you're refered to a private scan place so with the amount of money they charge for their scans they must have better equipment lol

Morning all. Can I ask if any of you have gestational diabetes? I have the hospital this afternoon as I have been diagnosed with it and have to go and see a multitude of people. Been stabbing myself for the last few days keeping a diary so they can decide what treatment is necessary.

A complication I could do without!

I had it - PM me ur questions and I'll reply on here :D
had a really weird thought - am constantly thirsty at mo and (TMI alert) have damp knickers (I warned you!) - what if the waters have gone and am having just a really slow trickle all the time?!!

ML - someone else was unsure about this - sorry cant remember who and the advice on the forum at the time was to put a pad on in case mw needs to inspect and to see if it smells like wee or not.

mine just trickled, felt like discharge, weirdly I thought it smelt like sperm :o
MW didn't smell it lol but she did take a look and said yep thats ur waters n:confused: It might have been a little bit pinky.
I only saw my plug cos I wiped my lady bits after having a trickle and saw it was mucusy - it was white and clear.

Just back from ante natal appointment. Baby has apparently moved and is no longer breech but lying across my tummy instead. Apparently the chances of me going into labour naturally before next Thursday (when section is booked) are tiny (Bah!) and they don't want to bring the date forward any. I am so sore and uncomfortable at this point, I could barely get on and off the examination couch! Will have to think of things to do for the next 8 days to take my mind of things, which don't involve much physical exertion...

Aww Nicki, you have my sympathies. My bump only turned from transverse at 35wks and its bl00dy agony carrying them like that! Even walking is difficult.I was so much more comfortable when he moved head down, right up until last week when he seemed to get much stronger and now I feel like he may actually break my bottom right rib with his feet!!
  • If it is waters, has been leaking for a while and have been doing all sorts I shouldn't have!

    Dear all,

I know dieting is a no-no in pregnancy, but is anyone managing to keep a general eye on calories throughout, and if so: any good linkies to suggest what the right calorie intake is for different body weights at different stages of pregnancy?:D

    TIA :)
