Morning all,
seems a lot of us had interrupted sleep last night: it's getting so hard to get comfortable now. Woke up at about 3am with the start of a horrible headache (where the pain goes into the bones) so had to give in and get some paracetamol - first time during pregnancy. Usually I can try and sleep it off but this was not going to happen this time. At least I managed to fall asleep a bit later and had a lie in.
Midwife appointgment yesterday went well: blood pressure fine, bump measuring 38 for 38 weeks, though bubs is not engaged at all - I think she has moved upThe midwives think she is either a big baby or has a big head
though I'm going to go with the scanning ladies who all think she'll be somewhere between 7.5 - 8.5 lbs and who have said she has a lovely shaped and sized head
Looks like I've put on 1 stone 11lbs since was first weighed, so happy with this as was a larger lady to begin with!

Morning all! Hope your all keeping well!
I think I'm getting my first pregnancy symptoms. I've been mega tired the past few evenings, falling asleep by 9pm and I've been feeling a little queasy during the day.
I also found that last night my stomach was feeling a little sore, quite low down. Is that normal? I'm just 5 weeks at the mo.
I'm finding it very hard to resist looking at all the baby sections in shops and on websites! It would have been much easier if I hadn't found out I was PG for a little while longer!

Squishy, that's quite good! I think I have put on about 2.5 stones, and I was a size 14 to start with, but I don't really care. Will worry about it a few months after the birth and start trying to lose it. I am sure it's all water anyway (she says hopefully!!).
Muso - I hope you avoid morning sickness as it sounds horrible, but it's nice to start feeling pregnant. Not sure about the sore tummy. If it's just a bit sore then it's probably fine, but if you get any proper pains and bleeding, definitely see a doctor. It is difficult to resist the baby stuff isn't it?! x0 -

I was a size 16/18 (tending towards the 18!) beforehand. I really didn't care how much I put on, as I knew I could lose it afterwards, but was pleasantly surprised
Still potentially a couple of weeks to go though!
I could really go for a mcdonalds just nowprobably a good thing that hubby has the car and therefore no way of getting one
Though I do think its unfair that they had to combine two of my favourite things - mcflurries and mint aero bubbles - just when I'm being good and not eating mcflurries

Good grief. Labour pains, pregnancy symptoms it's all happening today. Remember to breathe, ladies.
Just about to get ready to go out for lunch with OH. Decided to do lunch rather than dinner. He's already done some od jobs around the house - can tell I'm not the romantic sort, eh. Stuff the brekkie in bed and just go down the shed and get out that spanner! lol
Didn't get a reply about the fennel/nettle tea on the parent thread but there was some good advice about what to do if your out shopping and need the loo and what you do when you have a pram!
Check in later... Bearx0 -
Bear - I think your best bet is Googling "galactagogues" (which is the medical term for things that stimulate your milk) and reading some of the links that come up.top 2013 wins: iPad, £50 dental care, £50 sportswear, £50 Nectar GC, £300 B&Q GC; jewellery, Bumbo, 12xPringles, 2xDiesel EDT, £25 Morrisons, £50 Loch Fyne

Have a nice day out Bear. I think Aless said Fenugreek, and that rings a bell from when Elle was first trying to breastfeed. I think the doctor prescribed her something and it might have been Fenugreek.
I am off for a shower now, and then going to make a big pot of minestrone soup and do some washing. Then I might pop out to the shops for a wander round. Want to get DH a first anniversary present and don't want to leave it too late in case I end up in hospital giving birth on our anniversary!
Feel really guilty at getting up so late the past couple of days, but I have not had a good nights sleep since May (up every couple of hours) so I think a few long lies is probably acceptable. I need to catch up in some way before baby comes!
ETA - the ladies on the Pregnancy thread definitely say that Fenugreek is what to take to help with milk supply and also oats - porridge/flapjacks etc. They have been advising Glam on it and I found other old posts too. Not sure you need to do anything in advance though, maybe only if you are experiencing problems. I have no experience though, just passing on what was said!0
