Just popped in from the Parent Thread to post a hospital bag checklist for Glam (and anyone else that finds it useful)
For You
3 or 4 nighties and Dressing gown (dark colour is good in case of leaks after the birth)
Breast Pads
Maternity pads (PLENTY)
Lots of comfy big knickers – suggest buying some cheapies in a size too big in case of stitches – make sure they are not too tight and stretch a bit.
Nursing or Support Bra (dependent on breastfeeding )
2 x Towels (again dark is better. One to dry and one to use depending on how long you stay in for)
Slippers with hard soles or sandals/ shoes.(hospital toilet floors in post natal wards are not renowned for their dryness/cleanliness)
Toothbrush/Paste
Hairbrush/bands
Face/bodywash/shampoo
Baby sponge / flannels (you will need a separate one for your ladybits for a while!)
Loose Comfy Clothes to go home in (you won't shrink back to normal size immediately)
Tissues
Kitchen roll for drying ladybits
Fan
Nipple cream
Carton drinks
Chap stick
Mints
For Baby
3-4 vests (just in case of leaky poo)
2-3 babygros
Hats and scratch mits
Nappies
Cotton Wool
Going Home Outfit
Blanket (not necessary but some people like to put baby in car seat then put blanket over if chilly)
Vaseline – a slick on their bum makes it easier to clean off the sticky first poops!
I would say all of the above are mainly essentials... however... you may find it nice to take in things to make you feel human again like
make up
magazines (good to dip in and out of rather than books)
puzzle book and pens
sweets to suck on in labour
small cartons of juice
Straws
cereal bars for early labour (keep energy levels up)
Socks(when your 10cm some people find their feet get cold before the pushing bit)
camera/video (new batteries!!)
car seat upon being picked up
For Dad
Clean top & deoderant!!
Sandwiches
Spare change & list of phone numbers
Car park money - £2 min every time!
CD's
I am sure there are thingsI have forgotten but this is a pretty good start!
Don't know how to post a link to a single post!A very busy Yummy Mummy to a 1 year old gorgeous boy :smileyhea

Hey everyone,
Went for our first scan yesterday & there's a lovely little baby with a strong heartbeat :j Sonographer agreed we were 10+2 which meant I was right and the midwife was wrongshe had us at over 11 weeks! Baby's EDD is now 24th March.
We were incredibly relieved but I have to say fairly disapointed with the scan (I sound really ungrateful sorry) It was just that they made OH sit outside with DD until the very end - leaving me on my own & them missing out - and then once they were called in the woman turned the screen around & let us see the baby for all of 10 seconds. I appreciate the point of the scan is to check the baby medically and not really for the parents benefit but I felt like I blinked & missed it - not great for bonding. We went private with DD so I appreciate we probably got extra long to watch her in her scan.
Not sure how to upload the picture so have added a link - hope it works:

Aww, I know how you feel. At my 12 week scan the sonographer was pretty horrid, but to be honest bubs is healthy and that's all that matters, however sad it makes you feel at the time. You're right though, private scans spoil you as you get to look at baby loads. So worth the money if you can afford it.workinmummy wrote: »Just caught up before I go to bed.
For those looking for lightweight dressing gowns, i got one today in Sainsburys. They have 25% of TU clothing, so got it for £6 instead of £8.
Had a crap day in the kitchen, burnt the curry i had made OH for his tea. How do you possibly burn a curry thats in the oven. I have no idea, but i managed to. I then made banana bread, and its disgusting. My cooking and baking is normally good, but i was way off today. Hope its better tomorrow, coz i want to make chocloate chip muffins and brownies.
Am also appauled with by belly. Was feeling itchy on the left side of my bump, have looked at it and there a a million anygry red marks and they are also on the other side too. Am not impressed, get to 37 weeks they appear from nowhere. I didn't get any with DS and now they are screaming at me. And the midwives think my bump is small, well it can't be that bl**dy small if i've got them. Or maybe this time its due to age.
Great scan pictures. Labour vibes, good luck vibes etc to those who need them, Am going to bed, now sulking about my stretch marks.
I found my first stretch marks this week (30 weeks) and was most upset as I have been rubbing in my bio oil and body butter. Fingers crossed for both of us that they don't get any worse.
Moosmummy- Congratulations and welcome to the madhouse that is this thread.
Ness- thanks for updating us and hopefully your little one will be home with you really soon. Sounds like he's doing well x x:DYummy mummy, runner, baker and procrastinator0 -

Welcome to MoosMummy and thanks to everyone who has been posting piccys, scans are so cute.
Well done Ness, thanks for the BS and fingers crossed for a speedy return home for baby.
Sorry if I have forgotten anyone, my brain is mush at the moment, not that it has ever been that great but pg has definitely made it far worse.
