now I know why I need to spend more time catching up with you all, I miss all the good news - congrats CB and Tigster (sending special hugs and growth and strength vibes to little Andrew)!

have another consultant appt at 10:40am about my BP (excellent time as I end up avoiding a half day in the office!). Despite a history of high bp and booking in bp of 144/96, since about week 14 my BP has been 115-130/70-85 so hoping it continues like that and I avoid any meds or in patient monitoring or anything like that. Am 26 weeks tomorrow and counting every day my little man is growing in me as a blessing.

Good news about the move - we've had 11 viewings, 2 second viewings and at least another 3 for the next few days on our flat since Saturday so agents we are buying from are saying that keeps the vendors of the house we offered on happy and keeps them from doing more viewings! Fingers crossed for an offer coming our way very soon!

Your BP history sounds very similar to mine! Mine was very well behaved until 27 weeks and has been playing up since then and has to be checked weekly. The good thing is though that they are a bit more lenient if you have a history of a higher BP (well they have been in my case) so as long as I get it checked weekly they are happy for now.

Hi all had my 32 wk appointment today all ok bloods fab iron good, still low blood pressure but thats fine and baby good measured at 31cm so its fine.

Oh re birthing have been told ours in Dorchester takes 1 hr to clean, and if ist available you can use, they dont book it, but my midwife who has been there for 8 years has only had it happen twice where the pool was in use and someone else wanted it, they only put you in for later stages of labour and to give birth if you want so no one person will be in there for a long period of time. Im excited to get in.

My work have thank fully agreed to split my SMP so its not in one lump, and also provided me with a break-down of what I will be getting, them paying me my holiday 17 days saved is brilliant, and my KIT days will bump it up, so only works out my Dec & Jan pay will be junk, and thats all on SMP, my work dont bump this up.

Hope everyone is good ? xx

Really pleased that you got your pay sorted. It's such a simple thing for work to sort out but makes such a difference to us ladies.

Jillie- :j so pleased your BP is behaving.

Lou- I am loving the baby stuff on that site!!!

Well I cried at work today :o. Only in my office and no-one else was there but it just all got too much for me. Felt very silly afterwards but couldn't help myself at the time- bloomin' hormones.

Off to MW in a minute and she is always running really late so could be there a while. Really looking forward to my tea of mushroom risotto and roast butternut squash that I am going to be making later!

Lou- had a really quick look on that site, daren't have a proper look or I'd end up getting the plastic out!

31 weeks today :j:j can't believe how fast it's going now!! Only feels like yesterday I joined here at only 3 weeks gone!! 9weeks to go..I'm into single digits! OMG!! 6weeks to get everything bought and ready..the biggest one left to sort being a birth pool. I keep looking for one local to me on Ebay but no luck so far. Must keep looking!!!

RLT..I can't get to a Holland & Barrett shop this week, I've seen them on Ebay but am worried about buying them from there..could be any old rubbish in the bottle? Any views on that?
Just sat with my feet up, carrot cake baking in the oven courtesy of my daughter (smells delish!) If it tastes nice, were going to make another and take it round for my friend (who sadly lost her husband at the weekend)

CB- lovely pics, can't wait for birth story xx

Have been to MW today, and she is sending me to Consultants clinic next Tuesday. I am 36+ weeks and measuring 34 weeks and have been the same the last 2 visits to midwife and consultant clinic on 12 and 18 August. Said it could be nothing, as i am only small. I am not even bothering to worry as the same thing happened towards the end of my pregnancy with DS. Was sent for a scan because he felt small. Came out a 6lb 4, so not too tiny.

She said it could just be the way the baby is lying, and as its moving about well she isn't too concerned, it is just part of her job that she has to refer me, due to not much growth. She can't be that bothered as now have consultant app on 1st Sept, and pre-op on 11th Sept and she doesn't want me to go back to the MW clinic at all.

She was also suprised that they has booked my section in for week 39 and not 38 .
  • i had an appt at 36+3 last week and was measuring 31, she tried measuring me about 5 times and each time got 31. she checked my notes and at 34 weeks was measuring 33 which was fine so she tried again and said i suppose your uterus could be right up here and measured from almost inbetween my boobs, that time she got 34 which is what she has written in my notes. she didnt seem worried about it though so hopefully bump will have grown a bit by my next appt at 38+2

Glad everyone's BP is behaving well makes such a difference as time draws near.
I can't help but feel very jealous of you all going on about your various appointments and your count downs on due dates/inductions.

Had a strange day today, opinions on what it could be would be appreciated.
I came over sort of foggy/misty in the head not quite light headed IYSWIM. Felt like i was losing some vision in my eyes too couldn't focus properly. Then i got a bit shaky on my feet like i was going to fall all the time. Followed by my fingers going all numb like dead leg! Weird?

  • 32B- Not giving medical advice as you really should get checked out by a Dr but I did have days like that in early pg. No real explanation for them- I just found lots of rest and fluids helped me.

MW apt was ok. Not my usual MW, which was a shame and the stand in was a bit wet to be honest. However urine was clear, hurrah! BP was 144/78 which she was happy with and my hb levels are good which is fab as I was on a high dose of iron tablets at the start of my pg. Got to go back fortnightly now, and see the nurse in between to keep an eye on BP.

You ladies have got me thinking about a Tens machine now. Think it might be quite good........*toddles off to compare prices new and on eBay*

LOL If i could see a doctor i would had to change practice just to see a nurse, they wont have my medical notes yet and i cant get a doc at original one.

    Evening all!

Not been on much today as been quite busy at work for a change. Trying to cath up in between but only really done it now I'm home. Need to go back and check chasing's pics though as I couldn't see them at work.

    Glam - lovely bump!!!

Re Home births - I think everyone should be given a fair and balanced view, as with pain relief and everything else. It's not going to be for everyone but it's nice to know your options. This is my plan at the moment, spurred on by experiences from this thread and I haven't told MW yet but hope she will be supportive.

Back to the conversation from last night about hospitals providing pads / wipes / nappies etc, I can see they shouldn't have to provide everything, but they should at least give you enough to start you off. I wouldn't go to hospital and expect to provide my own bandages!!

Re cord cutting - OH doesn't want to do it, I totally don't mind.

Fitzio - I think I will want to eat and drink during labour! Especially if it's a long one. I think it's right that you need the energy! Obviously if you don;t want to you shouldn't be forced. As for what happens if you need a section, they will prefer to do one with an epidural or spinal tap anyway so no problem with those if you've eaten. Even with a general anaesthetic you are much less likely to have problems with vomiting with them these days than you were a few years ago so I don;t see th eproblem if a woman wants to eat in labour.

GISI - I love risotto!! I made a beetroot one last night - my favourite! Think I like it so much cos it all goes pink!

Lou I looked at that site then quickly closed the page before I reached out for my purse!!
