Several of the holiday Deals now have limits on Clubcard vouchers:

    Cosmos: £400 per person
    Virgin: £700 per person

French Life and Individual Travellers are pulling out at the end of the year.

I have fired off an email advising Tesco that I think the limits devalue one of the best features of the clubcard deals.

I am constantly surprised at the hostility Tesco's most loyal customers have towards them. If you don't like the prices or the loyalty scheme (bearing in mind no other supermarket offers anything like the value that CC already does), don't shop there!

I could predict the first twenty posts in any Tesco thread. I could start a thread saying "Tesco are to halve all prices" and people would all of a sudden revert to the staff being rude, the buying being unethical or the parking being limited again. There is no pleasing some people and you know who you are!

If Tesco deals do diminish in value then !!!!!! spend them - they're free money anyway and if you're stupid enough to have been shopping there just to get the vouchers then you're probably not going to cope with stress of them devaluing either. If on the other hand you're one of the dirty lot who have multiple accounts and do your best to screw the rest of us over when Tesco have to devalue the scheme, you should be ashamed of yourselves. No doubt these people are the ones who are now complaining, at a guess.

My wife and I collect these points but have never thought of them as any more than a treat - you need to get out more if you spend your life worrying about them.
  • according to daily mail online Tesco are offering double clubcard points as from tomorrow

What if you've been saving up for a once in a lifetime holiday for your family? Wouldn't you be narked off if they changed the rules? You plan for a couple of years and then they change things without even informing you. If I hadn't have been on here, I never would have known.

. Tesco has gotten far too expensive and even its most loyal customers are beginning to realise that.

Agreed. I noticed this when our local one stopped selling certain Value items like the 10p stock cubes in an attempt to force you to buy the cheapest alternative they had which was £1 approx - TEN times the price... Didnt work in this case. I just stopped making soups as often as I used to. Pity cos they were cheap, fun to make, healthy and a pot lasted me and my flatmate days of meals and stuff to freeze.

If you go onto the Clubcard website it clearly states any reward that is being changed from September:

If I could thank you a hundred times I would and then thank you some more. Have been sitting reading some of the more hysterical (both in tone and funny) posts out to my husband who has aked me to remind those moaning that you actually get the points free when you buy something in Texco and not the items free when you buy points!!!

I wouldn't have been narked off, no. The conditions clearly say that offers can be stopped or changed at any time! not just any time AFTER i've had my dream holiday! Save quicker or for something smaller.

And actually the details of these changes has hardly been a secret....at least 2 newspapers have carried reports this weekend...how would Martin have known to write an article about it otherwise? and there are HUGE billboards advertising that a change is coming.

Fascinatingly there has been no confirmation of a devaluation of points as of yet....Everyone should have a good panic now though, allow them to build up good heads of steam for some really good mudslinging if it does happen.
