I cant believe I got charged £7.75 per adult ticket at the cinema a couple of days ago and this is a cinema in Fife so not within a major city. Shocking!! Also does anyone know what happened to cheap Tuesdays at Odeon? We only went on a Tuesday to get it half price but paid £15.50 for two tickets! Might as well buy the blue ray !!!

I think you are probably better off in a big city. We only paid 12 pound for a family ticket 4 of us in Birmingham but over here in Telford it works out at that for one of us to take one child.

Vue cheap Tuesdays stopped - but there is now a card that you can get and just show. Registration was easy at the cinema and no other contact. So that is £4.65. Not much of a discount (and cannot be used with other discounts). We like Tuesdays because of easier parking around, it's quieter, and cheaper than other nights.

    Don't forget Orange Wednesdays too.

It wasn't to see a 3D film was it ? I've noticed that my local VUe cinema charges £1.75 a ticket more for these than for a normal film, although they don't exactly shout about it.....

    Hi

No it was a non 3D film. Very confused as cinema always used to cheap Tuesdays so at least it was still under a fiver. We wondered if they maybe scrapped cheap Tuesday while the school holidays were on? Anyway we will only go once or twice a year at those prices. I think the 3/4 years we've lived in this area its gone from £6 to £7.75.
  • It's even worse when you pay the £15.50 and it's a really duff film, or you have annoying people sitting near you. Sometimes lastminute.com do cheap cinema tickets, for about £4.50 I think, but not during the school holidays.

Have you tried the freebies board for free screenings? I used to get at least one free film a month.
  • There is also orange wednesdays. Pay for 1 ticket get the other free, you need an orange sim card which you can get free.

Ouch!! I'm in Belfast and the discount for Odeon is only on a Wednesday but thats still pretty high. I think its only £6.50 for an Adult here. I prefer to go to the Movie House where its like £5.30. More comfortable seats and nicer popcorn

I once took a school trip to a local cinema and they told me that the ticket price only covered something like 95% of the film rental they had to pay the distributors, so they had to make all their money on exorbitantly priced popcorn etc.

It's a shame for the British film industry - it costs me at least £30 to take my kids to see something - plus another £30 odd if I let them have kiosk snacks!! If it was cheaper, I'd take them a lot more than I do!

My local Vue still does cheap Tuesdays but you need to register and get a card for it now - have you done that ?

    Hi

Unfortunately no Vue near us. The Odeon is the only cinema for about 15 miles - prob why they're ripping us off, they know we cant go anywhere else!!!!!

The smallest popcorn in there is £3.60!!!
