I have a really simple theory, but I have no idea if it's right.
Lots of people, in general, want to own a house to live in. Most people aren't obsessed with the exact price of a house, they just want one they can pretty much afford. Houses have gone down in price a bit over the past few years, now they are going up again, so quite a few people have gone out and bought one over the past couple of months on the basis that they're a bit cheaper now than they have been for a while.
That's my theory.
Bit silly if you don't mind me saying.
Thats assuming people are switched on! Or not, as the case may be!
In other words, I'd agree. But was a bit sensible for you.0 -

What aspect of the theory do you think is silly? To be honest it kinda assumes that people aren't 'switched on', in the sense that the masses don't care about house prices in the detail that either the bears or bulls do on this forum. They just buy them to live in over the long term. Sometimes they'll get 'em cheap, sometimes expensive. Everyone tends to finish even or up at the end of the cycle anyway.0 -
I already edited, as I realised it may not be taken the right way!0

One thing is for sure, over a 25 year mortgage, your house will be worth a lot more - this is something that will never change.0

Graham seems to be a bit lonely of late. Maybe I'll join him on the bear side, keep him company.
He might even win a debate or two.
On second thoughts maybe not.Favourite hobbies: Watersports. Relaxing in Coffee Shop. Investing in stocks.
