Thanks for ruining the post. I really hoped I might just get an insight in to what was going on out there.0

Who here reckons prices will rise and who reckons fall.
I am well and tuely in the fall camp and have not seen one reason why they will rise.:exclamatiScams - Shared Equity, Shared Ownership, Newbuy, Firstbuy and Help to Buy.

I think they will rise and fall in an up and down pattern over the next hundred years. However, the long term average trend will be a general, steady rise.
I have no camp.0 -
Sorry house - we were enjoying ourselves. Your opening post pretty much covered everything, apart from your question which was blip or not? Well that is what we argue about daily without ever reaching 100% conclusion. Some say blip, some say no.Thanks for ruining the post. I really hoped I might just get an insight in to what was going on out there.
Now at least your thread remained fairly civil and fun instead of turning into an endless round and round argument about the direction of house prices.
Answer is? We don't really know.0 -

I can't understand why they have been rising since February

Because fools part easily with money?
Or is that money parts easily with fools? Or from fools? Or nothing like that at all? Looks quite good either way really.
I'm confusing myself, but I know what I mean, which is all that matters!0 -

I have a really simple theory, but I have no idea if it's right.
Lots of people, in general, want to own a house to live in. Most people aren't obsessed with the exact price of a house, they just want one they can pretty much afford. Houses have gone down in price a bit over the past few years, now they are going up again, so quite a few people have gone out and bought one over the past couple of months on the basis that they're a bit cheaper now than they have been for a while.
That's my theory.0
