    Hi Buffy

I too have to go shopping today - and do loads of other things

Sorry your week has been so pants  I know it's hard but try not to think about it for a couple of days and enjoy your weekend :D

  • Well my credit card payment went through, but I forgot about the interest - so now I owe 58p!! which I can't pay cos its less then a pound and they won't let me pay more then my balance!!!

Christmas shopping was stressful, I reckon I spent about 160 quid, some on other CC (to be paid off next weekend) and some straight out of Cur acc.

I now have bits to buy for my friends and I need to get my Sister and Mum their presents. hmmmm.

I think next year I shall do the present neutral thing!!

Mum is driving me a bit nuts, she records merlin, and said did I want to watch last weeks? so I said yes, then she said oh but Strictly's on I said I don't mind lets watch Merlin, she says no you watch strictly, and then goes and cleans the !!!!ing kitchen making me feel like a right !!!!!.

I just can't bear the games and the loaded comments, I suggested she didn't kill herself cooking a roast tomorrow cos I am going out (and I have a lot to do and didn't want to stop to sit and eat for hours, so partly for selfish reasons) but she got really upset and so I bought a chicken. Its ridiculous. I feel stupid even typing it all out.

    xxxx
    Nevertheless she persisted.

Do you have a plan to move out? Do yo want to be debt free first?

  • I have to be debtfree first and even then I am not sure with the money situation with my sister and Mum's health it would be worth moving out.

Basically the plan at the moment is debt free, new job, save deposit, by house either here or up north (to rent out)

In my wildest dreams and having a really good year next year it could happen
but I just feel like crap to be honest.

    Got lots to do. sigh.

Not sure what you earn but I guess similar to me  and somehow I manage - and I am a long way from being debt free  I rent as I couldn't get a mortgage but I am OK with that to be able to have my own space - the 'chicken dinner' story sounds unbearable

I think I could manage ok, to rent or eventually to buy but my sister has basically just declared herself bankrupt and is skint. I know at some point she will need help and if I am tied up in house stuff then I wont be able to help her. I don't know.

And as for Mum it is the same problem in different areas, she has spent her whole life looking after us and now she just doesn't know what to do. We moved just before my Dad died and so all her friends are home and not here, I work mostly 10 - 12 hour days so she is alone a lot, my other sister is useless
its a constant battle between my life and looking after her. She would throw me out if she knew I was typing all this on the internet for the whole world to know!

The thing is she is so lovely, I mean today to go to Argos it would have been an hour on the bus just to get there, she drove me and it took an hour in total including the shopping! and then she picked me up from Sainsburys

She just has routines and likes to stick to them.

    I don't know.

I think it is the time of year, the fact that work is rubbish and I am having to readjust to her being back - the six weeks were not great but it was so nice deciding what I could eat if anything!!

At the very least I need to be debt free and have a little savings, then at least it would be choice.

    Hi Buffy

Hope I didn't offend you :o Does your Mum know how you feel, have you talked to her?

Not sure about your sister, I suppose it depends on how she ended up bankrupt  If it's through no fault of her own then I understnd you wanting to help but otherwise ................ she's an adult, and you have your own debts! (Sorry if that sounds harsh but you sound such a caring person and I wonder if you think enough about your own needs?)

    Take care of you :A
